Pve Is The Only Thing That Will Save This Game.

Convoy escort for example, 12 vs 12 but one group has to protect the slow and vulnerable convoy ( well not so vulnerable as they have multiple AMS etc and is heavily armoured )
Protect the Dropship / facility etc missions
Lead an Assault missions
Instead of generic Resource collections things can be movable
The maps have to be adjusted of course but right now it all seems to be easier to team death match.
all this of course relies on YOU to not buy the next Resistance pack or you are basically saying to PGI, Laser vomit death match with broken mechanics, poor graphics and original CS gameplay is what you want.

You don't have to have voice actors and a full campaign to have a fun PVE mode. There are a lot of ways to do co-op PVE that could use mostly existing assets. A full campaign like previous Mechwarrior titles would be great, but I would be very happy with a wave defense type mode, convoy escort mission, or similar type games that could be done with much less investment than a full story mode.
so you're saying you want a wave defense ALA CW - only with dumber enemies, i fail to see how that would add anything let alone "save" - like someone mentioned, it would be a band aid.

Will people be willing to crowdsource USD$X amount for PGI to develop a PvE game? This would go into hiring the AI, more maps, cut scenes, etc. which would be good for the overall game.
Co-operative PvE sounds interesting.
What I dont understand is after you have the "fixed" set of missions three times across easy, normal and hard modes, why would you go back to playing again? OK, perhaps to get a better score, secure more goodies based on the outcome of the PvE. sounds remotely doable. I remember not playing the PvE part of MW4 after two times. But I would replay specific games in MW4 as "instant action" if the mission was fun.
As many have suggested, let the wallet decide. Those interested should
1) drum up enough interest (which is what this post is for)
2) Get enough unique petitions through another online petition channel (or Feature Suggestion), or get PGI to run an actual petition, survey with proper publicity done on the "launch" page of the game rather than this limited forum.
3) this would give PGI something to think about if there are X persons willing to part with Y money to create the feature with X*Y funding.
Let's say 15 missions of Attack, Defend, Escort, Recon, etc. for USD$100 + 4 new mechs and mech bays . How many would go for it?

- PVE gets added
- you're still unhappy with it and the game in general
- but you still play the game
- you still make posts about "if ____ was different everything would be fine"
If you're so unhappy with a game that you'll write it off entirely for missing 1 feature, that 1 feature isn't going to change anything. You just don't like the game.
That's a valid opinion. Just accept it, and either choose to keep playing because the frustration's worth it, or quit because it's not.

I actually agree with you 100%
I used to post suggestions like this 2.5 years ago. Now that we know PGI isn't capable of delivering, I'd rather have some AI waves or something to kill the time, because this game does not feel like MW\BT anymore. The mechs might as well be people in slow armor. There is no role warfare and no objective that makes sense, even CW makes no sense.
Jesus Christ man, If you are serious, Im really sorry. Both for your situation, and that the thing you look forward too all day is MWO... That's heartbreaking.
Of course I'm serious, who would joke about that? Just ask my two kids. I used to do lots of neat stuff till the cancer rotted my bones. I just get tried of hearing all the poo that comes out every day. I really doubt that if Russ found a golden goose and gave it away here, that anyone would even be a little bit happy. I know, I don't have to read it, but it also doesn't have to be bitched about so much either. Outside of Urbie, what has it really gotten you? People scream it hasn't changed a bit in 3 years! And neither has the endless bitching either! Some aren't happy with the color of the tree, some can't stand the shape of the tree, I'm just happy we even have a tree!

I've played lots of online games that have very fun wave defense games. It would not necessarily be like CW, it would be great if there were enemies besides mechs like armor, elementals, infantry, helicopters, etc. Wave defense isn't the only option either, just one example. There are lots of things that could make great co-op PVE experiences in MWO.

but being realistic, if we ask for a pve mode to pgi they will give us the bare minimum and slack off in other areas. i can guarantee their effort would not live up to half your expectation, not even a 10th of it.
if they struggle to make a map every 6 months, can we really expect them to come up with destroyable dropships, ai controlled elementals that jump with jj and swarm you, even little tanks that don't crash into the buildings on crimson i don't think they can do
it would be like this, but not only rare as a bug, every enemy would be like this; all the time.
if a multimillion dollar production can have this every now and then (all games do this) you can imagine what pgi AI will look like - as usual we will wait for months or over a year (and pgi would spend their development cycles and budget), for a DISASTER.

Nah, it was stupidly rushing right at the beginning of a match straight to the enemy, spotting as many possible, and managing to launch a UAV in the middle of the very momentary chaos without any of them noticing.
Despite my very early & very wasteful demise, my team proceeded to win very quickly. I wonder why that might've been?
Oh, wait, I forgot: the UAV had the entire enemy team lit up and gave my team all the information on where they were at. Incidentally giving me a stupid amount of experience and c-bills in process, despite me doing nothing except literally going full ****** suicide-player mode. I had less than 50 damage & less than a minute & thirty seconds spent ingame, yet I got the aforementioned absurd amount of experience and c-bills.
___
I literally did nothing but use a consumble in the most single-minded, one-dimensional, stupidest way possible - the very next thing to no effort at all - and did what normally would be worse than AFKing for my team (because even an AFK mech at least takes up more time of a couple enemy mechs) - yet I got a large amount of rewards & enabled my team to win the match very quickly by virtue of the UAV showing exactly where the enemy was.
That is why I have a problem with consumables. It breaks the game.
ANYways, going way off topic for this thread.
Bring us immersive PVE campaign modes!

Let's just make CW worthwile and then, maybe, we could think about making the first steps in that direction. As it is now, CW is in alph..."beta 2"

And as long as the whales continue to feed them money this will never change..........there is absolutely zero economic incentive for PGI to improve this game, the unwashed masses spoke with their wallets long ago.
Sadly, for those of us that wanted (and were told we were going to get) a Battletech / Mechwarrior game, we were duped......we got COD / BF3 with different skins, fewer maps, worse balance and worse optimization instead.

You know, back in the 90s before consoles, aka when games were good, we had dynamically generated campaigns.
Games like M1 Tank Platoon2, ComancheHavoc, Total War, etc. And more modern pc centric titles with robust editor created single midsion content, like Armed Assault (which has the single best mission editor in the industry).
Back before AAA titles with celebrity voiceovers we had games that were greatly replayable due to changing content not due to different tech trees or skill trees.
A dynamically generate PVE campaign that has Co-Op would be a huge draw. Right now you cannot bring new players into this game. I know I've tried to bring in over 2 dozen. The 2 man experience in the group queue is absolutely terrible. New player, experienced player, it doesnt matter. Skillful or skill-less, the current setup has little to no chance of growing or regenerating the player base with new players, wise-arse suggestions to join a big team notwithstanding.
I'd be extremely interested in a dynamically generated Co-Op PVE. But not a dumbed down, console-crowd-friendly scripted story of 8 missions tacked together.

That's very true Joe, but I would rather pay $60-70 for a good single player mode, preferably with two campaigns, one Clan and one IS, that come to a head at the battle of battle of Tukayyid. As a reward for completing the campaigns on each difficulty setting let the player bring one mech from their stable into the multiplayer section once, like an achievement reward. And for those of us with a big stable, let us import one of our mechs to those campaigns. I think it'd give some incentive to play both, with out drastically altering the "economy" of MWO.

Not saying a small PvE co-op campaign would not be fun. But for a full game.. it is better off as it´s own thing.

you do know that Russ has stated at the TH that PvE is on the development table, after like phase 3 of CW.

wonder if a Hybrid is possible, where the basic mode is PVE, but certain missions maybe are PvP based, and things like the Solaris Arenas and Trials of Position go back to a PvP server, then when passed, one way of the other, you return to the PvE.
Also, am I the only one who hates the PvE scripts where you have to win every mission to progress. You should have alternate scripts if you lose, IMO.

Lol, why aim to lose? But yeah, it would be neat to see loss scripting. But I play to win lol.
Like what? Your evacing from River City, protecting the dropship until powerup. It gets destroyed and now your lance is fighting to the death against the assaulting Clan forces? Then, if you manage to somehow live for 20 more minutes, another Dropship shows up to take you away? You lost, you lose Campaign points, or something, but you progress anyway?
As for mixed PVE/PVP. If im in PVE, its cuz I dont want to PVP at all.....so while maybe there could be a PVE/PVP mix campaign, there should be a Coop PVE only campaign.
But a PVE/PVP mix campaign really is how this game literally should be right now.......Warthunder is a terrible game, but atleast they have PVP/PVE mix and objectives for each side to take, even if it is jsut 3 circles in the middle. More indepth like Mechcommander 1 with a PVE/PVP mix would be cool.
