Very kind of you to pick apart a true noob gameplay with out any constructive criticism. The guy has played maybe 60 matches total so far, as stated in HPG on reddit. He's running trial mechs and doesn't have the scratch to spend on new mechs. Maybe we should help the new guy out instead of bash his obviously fresh to the game skill level like Tercial1979 and Xander Grey have.

I agree. I'd say this thread is borderline name/shame and probably shouldn't even be here.
NOPE.
Here is the thread's point: Newbies need help.
Who is going to help that one who's just download the game?
Players?
IMO, NOPE.
TUTORIALS
And many, describing all aspects of the game.
Only few newbies ask for help. Only few players are willing to explain the game to noobs... and thanks for giving them free time to do it!
The rest get tired, and disinstall the game.
Is it so difficult for PGI undestand that with TUTORIALS since the beginning, the playerbase would be larger, more competent, and would even have more costumers????

this is a great illustration about why the NPEE (New Player Experience/Exposure) is so very critical.
