Also, have you tried running the repair tool? It could be that something went wrong during the patching.

Run with Firewall turned off?
Run as the only application running on your computer?
What might help us more is knowing your computer specs, of prominent note what operating system you are using.

Your specs sounds well above the minimum. I'm not familiar with Windows 7.
Shall I also presume that you've tried running as administrator and make sure that the program has permission to communicate with the internet/your firewall is down?
I would also give your Task Manager a look. The program may be trying to run multiple copies of itself, which last I knew it is programed not to. This could be causing confusion/conflicts and stopping the program from executing.
As another consideration, have you restarted your computer and tried it then? Probably shouldn't make a difference, but sometimes stupid things work...

Due to the fact you can't even get the patcher up to run a repair tool... I'm being pushed beyond what I would honestly know how to help you with. (If this was a hardware issue, I'd be of far more help.)

Otherwise. It's beyond my capabilities here. Unless/even someone else comes along with more advise than I have, I'd submit a ticket to support about this. Supports always been very helpful. If nothing else, it lets them know of the issue and if it's something that can be fixed on their ends, they can at least start working on it.

I would send to either general@mwomercs.com or technical@mwomercs.com.
I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Contacting support sounds about the only thing left to do.
Also, to check when multiple copies of the same program are trying to run enter task manager (CTRL+ALT+DELETE, then select Task manager). Go to "Processes", and look there for any MWO related applications running, right click them, and choose "End PROCESS" (there's "end task" don't use that one)

programs and features
if there is any listing for Mechwarrior Online, uninstall it
download a cleanup program, 2 good free ones I know are "Glary Utilities" and "CCleaner", install the program, ensuring none of the install additional program options are ticked
run the cleanup program, scan then cleanup whatever it shows (unticking empty recycle bin if there is anything you think you may want later in there)
download and run the MWO installer, does it work now?
do you have at least 20GB of free disk space?
