Soooooo, this morning I went with a micro tutorial for puggernauts, 'cause I'm a good guy and I want to help.
Btw that topic was about the necessity of TUTORIALS

Let's do a game: "enumerate the puggosities"
How many "puggosities can you see in this video?

I just leave this here.

edit: I wondered he is faking....
edit2: read dat chat!!!!

Even for this game that was some of the most toxic team chat I've ever seen. Sad to watch...

The stock mechs...
The positioning...
The LRM's salvo's without steady locks...
The enemy UAV's sitting in LoS...

This makes me a sad panda. :(

Yeesh. He misIDed Steiner as Rasalhauge...

And his first mistake was dropping alone and not in a group. XD

Although alot of us didn't play Tukayyid to "screw around"-we played to win.

On Hellborne Springs, sitting in spawn doesn't really work anymore, unless you're in a full 12-man that's coordinated enough to lure the enemy into a trap.

Was it toxic? Yes. Do I understand why Urachi went there? Yes.
There's no reason at all to lose against a team like DHB. The guy tried to rally his publets to the easiest possible strat on this map in that mode. So, let's count the "puggosities".
- Not listening to an experienced pilot
- Blaming said pilot for the loss after not even trying to stick to his plan
- Losing against DHB
That Youtuber's puggosities:
- Terrible mech builds, no synergy between weapons, extreme high heat, low ammo
- Doesn't hold locks for LRMs
- Doesn't shoot a UAV that bites him in the face
- Terrible aim

...
- falling off a cliff in zoom mode
- not spreading damage on the DWF

I stopped watching when they TK'd Urachi

Go on, go on.

It seems clear to me that this pilot didn't even understand the "mission" of this drop.

Acually it helps in 2 cases:

1) MechwarriorBuddha now can undestand how a pilot can do less than 80 point: he must do worse than this.

2) It helps PGI and community to understand the state of newbies without tutorial. And this after 3 years the game is out.
And this with Steam coming.
It helps them to undestand how many things have to be added in those tutorials

A prime example of why people like me do one or two games modes and forget that cw is even part of the options for game mode. Skirmish mode for the win.

Very kind of you to pick apart a true noob gameplay with out any constructive criticism. The guy has played maybe 60 matches total so far, as stated in HPG on reddit. He's running trial mechs and doesn't have the scratch to spend on new mechs. Maybe we should help the new guy out instead of bash his obviously fresh to the game skill level like Tercial1979 and Xander Grey have.

I agree. I'd say this thread is borderline name/shame and probably shouldn't even be here.

Wow, it is really rare to see such toxicity in MWO. For the 2 years I have been active I maybe have seen such toxicity once, and it wasn't as bad as this - that's just my experience though.

Watching that video, that -MS- guy was out of line. Terrible leadership and very toxic behavior based on that video. It sends a terrible message about his unit, and his behavior is not what we need for a game that desperately needs new people.

Don't get me wrong, we have all had our moments. But that was just too much...

woah woah woah. no reason to lose against DHB? We may be taking baby steps into the competitive scene, but we are far away from the worst unit out there. We stomp and have gotten stomped by many other 12 mans, and while many of our memebers are fresh or casual, we have a growing number of competitive level players. I invite you and anyone else to come on over and play with us if you disagree. In this particular game, we were actually doing a training night with some of our greener pilots and were working under restricted comms to encourage better play, which is why at times our pushes didn't seem too coordinated.

Also, if you didn't notice, this youtuber was using trial mechs because he used PGI's opportunity to switch sides to get faster queue times. The builds aren't totally his fault, just the decision to switch factions. He wasn't the worst pilot on that team, and he definitely wasn't as toxic as the "leader" that so many people got fed up with that they executed him.

PUG LIFE

and

:Stock Robots:

You do have to ask yourself: Is it better to follow a terrible plan with the group, or do the better thing solo? One you have meatshields, the other you have no backup.

LOL, the MS didn't even get 1000 damage. I guess 200 per life is respectable for some people....but he wasn't in Stock Robots...

Depends on the player, and how they want to play; be a brawler, a ranged fighter, a lrm boat...

The list goes on, won't list'em all.

Nothing to see here. At least the guy was trying to follow orders, albiet not the best orders that could have been given. As mentioned, this is a great illustration about why the NPEE (New Player Experience/Exposure) is so very critical.

But DAT CHAT. eeesh
