Paranoia is increasing, no doubt. Had a match this weekend with a guy from enemy team starting to rant about cheating right after he died. At the end of the match he wrote that he reported me for using an aimbot. Best part of it is that neither did i kill him nor did i fire a single shot at him during that match. Go figure. <_<

Edit: Had him targeted when he died, he lost his CT.

Well... to be honest, every time I see a headshot nowadays, I second guess it. And I've been seeing headshots a LOT more than usual lately. Here's two in one match from just an hour ago, on the map in the game with the worst visibility (so arguably most difficult to achieve headshots) (disclaimer: this has nothing to do with the names in the screenshot, you can disregard them as they were innocent and irrelevant) Posted Image I'm one of those guys that usually is very doubtful of hacks and honestly... even I am starting to smell something fishy. I don't blame people for jumping to conclusions anymore.

True, it's happened to me too. Coming round a corner - headshot. What's starting to irk is that I'm not getting headhot in shadowhawks, hellbringers or thunderbolts... it's in SCRs with less than a seconds face-time. To be fair, I've had a lucky one or two before, but if other people are 'genuinely' noticing it.. Hmm..

Just my own thoughts, I wonder if there was a small hitbox change somewhere for the size of the head on Mechs.
I say this because, as of recent I am noticing that even I have managed to pull off a lot more headshots then I was ever used to.
I was even in my Victor once and on a snap shot around a corner I took the head off a Stalker.
I Literally just stood there for a second in disbelief, I've never managed it with an AC20 round before.

And I am far from the best player so for me to headshot is saying something.

I can accept one two or even possibly 3 head shots in a game.

But when you start seeing multiple head shots against moving lites that are torso twisting?

Or how about when you are hiding behind a wall, pop out, take a shot and then move to another end of the wall. You pop out but somehow one or more enemies are already focusing on that exact spot?

I can acknowledge that there will always be better pilots. But lets also admit there ARE cheats. Websites abound with them. And until PGI is willing to have zero tolerance and bring the hammer down it will just continue to grow like cancer.

Imagine 20k steam players using these. Sounds like so much fun

Can we get some video of these +3 or 4 HeadShot Matches please.

"You pop out but somehow one or more enemies are already focusing on that exact spot?"

Because you are the first Pilot ever in MWO to try the much skilled and devious "other corner of the wall" maneuver, you should be appalled and obviously got hacked... ;)

When it comes to headshots, I think there are some mechs more prone than others, not because of the head hitbox on the cockpit glass, but the head equipment as well.

I've noticed that mechs where I run a head weapon tend to take more head damage.

More head damage seems to happen to my Hunchback quite a bit (head laser) and Shadow Hawk (missile hard point).

I thought someone tested this theory in the testing grounds on a Hunchback and said that indeed the weapon applied damage to the head. I would be curious to know for sure if this is the case.

If it is, that rendered weapon greatly increases your head hitbox. It would make sense, the weapon is in a head crit slot.

Just food for thought since I am seeing headshot complaints now when we just had a Founders weekend and surely people are running more Hunchbacks (with head lasers), then usual.

Since it's more widely known now there are actually hacks for this game, people will be more suspicious which is hardly surprising. At least we finally are rid of the even more annoying "this game has no hacks" naive crowd.

So far i've only experienced 1 definite hacker. He shot me through a building today.

But he didn't detect me sneaking up behind his nonarmored CT rear before that.
Later on he overheated to death after firing 4 LL's just after powering up from overheating.

I'm surprised I haven't been called out for hacking with some of the games I manage to have when I occasionally manage to drop against a team from the steering wheel underhive. But then again they're probably not aware of the... software ai..ds (c'mon filter) currently out there to think about accusing someone.

Either that or they still haven't ticked the check box to enable all chat.

I haven't been called a hacker recently, but I did get called "CIS Scum" yesterday after I was dominating in a match.

Oh puh-lease! The "I died therefore someone cheated!" crowd is infinitely more annoying.

It's probably an environmental bug that caused him to shoot you through a building.

Otherwise, kindly explain to me how a server-authoritative calculation can be tricked by a client-side hack?

Please, people, think long and hard before you declare that something is a hack. Geesh!

A/freaking/gree!

I hate how people are calling hacks all day long... total [Bs] (<.< >.> Profanity Filter).

I've never seen a single hack and I've been playing since 2012 ....

I have been told my use of lasers was like a scalpel once though... probably the closest to hacker I've ever gotten :3

I've seen all too many posters that think MWO is some kind of unique unhackable game for years now, which is just so incredibly naive and subsequently annoying.

Do you seriously feel that the "There are no hacks!" folks are more annoying than the "I lost, therefore someone cheated!" ones?

The former is naivete. The later is ego-to-the-max.

For MWO yes, since I seldom see people claim hacks, but whenever someone asks about hacks then the naive squad rush out and insult everyone thinking hacks might be a possibility in MWO and claiming whoever think there are hacks are wrong, when in reality they are clearly the ones that have no clue.
