Clanners rejoice you will no longer have to face the following drop decks:

Fire starter / Raven, Thunderbolt / Jagger x2, Stalker
Fire starter / Raven x2, Stalker, Banshee
Spider, Hunchback, Stalker x2
......

Some other received OP drop deck selection.

I guess we will have to wait and see at what kind of silliness will take place after the Clan Wave 3 goes live.

Personally, I dislike the drop deck being tonnage limited period. Would much prefer a 1/1/1/1 system of some sort, though I realize I am in the minority in that opinion.


I could, or I could take the buff to my drop deck by switching to a Stalker to punish the whiners.

I like the mention of logistics and supply lines here and it has just occurred to me that the altering of the drop deck tonnage is a fairly simple way to create the effect of logistics.

Reitmeir ... how could you talk so much sense. Two of the biggest MERC groups around started in House Kurita. NS is so damn bored in HK we are mulling a contract change just to find some fights. With the pop levels fairly low Having massive MERC cartels completely over balances the game depending on what faction they are fighting for. The tonnage had little to do with it ... the issue was IS currently has the bulk of the MERC groups so it should be no surprise that IS is winning everywhere.

A REAL solution would have been to implement the current drop deck tonnage limits with 1 light, 1 medium, 1 heavy, and 1 assault slot. No more bringing three heavies, no more bringing 2 lights and 2 assaults.

One. Of. Each. Many problems fixed.

What is this I don't even...

I'd really like to know the kind of logic they used for this. Currently, I come only come up with two non-cynical choices:

1. PGI wanted to specifically reward the faction that won the event, and this might set a precedent to do this again in future TurkeyYard wars.

2. PGI might have seen significant reductions in the popularity of low-tonnage mechs in CW, so they wanted to attempt to re-incentivize them?


Either way, this thread can be effectively summarized as "lolwut."

I am fairly certain we will find the "Meta" in a 1-1-1-1 drop deck just as we find the Meta in anything else.

I agree, it is pointless whining. But if he wants to bring a Highlander to the table, he still can. He claims it cuts down on variety, but I beg to differ. Instead of a highlander, stalker, and two FS9, he could do a highlander, stalker, firestarter, and jenner. Hey, if the deck is not going to be optimized to begin with.... *shrugs*

I know BALANCE is hard, but if PGI wants more variety then they should BALANCE the mechs.

IS: Firestarter + whatever IS medium is the meta + Thunderbolt + Stalker 4N

Clan: Arctic Cheetah + Stormcrow + Mad Cat + Dire Whale (Maybe the Exe instead for a speed advantage?)

I have an idea, ya know since we are on the idea of logistics then lets add repair costs, ammo costs, drop costs, Mech costs, mercs should be paid for by an actual house representative, but i guess IS is broke, so mercs will get paid less? hmmmm intersting idea right? But wait ANOTHER IDEA!!!! we took all the clan worlds, so we get clan weapons now right? and clan hybrid mechs right? no.... hmmm that sucks and so do you.

Can someone from the IS even adequately tell me what the REAL advantage clans have over you is? You have massive quirk mechs, you all KNOW that a Stalker 4N is ridiculously Meta, along with the firestarter. WHAT exactly are you complaining about?
As sarcastic as this may sound, I really am curious. I feel like I must be missing something that that extra 10 tons really gave you, because WE sure as hell didn't have it. We don't have any advantage except having XL engines that are tougher. Range? Not anymore. Heat? We're hotboxes! Damage? Our lasers take longer to cycle, meaning we can't armor roll like you can. AC's? We all know Clan AC's are terrible, because we miss even one shot out of an AC-10 and we lose base damage. You pop a single shot and get full damage out of all your guns. Your lasers recharge faster, take less time to burn, and generate less heat.

WHAT is the PROBLEM here? Look at the CW map! LOOK AT IT. We haven't taken a SINGLE planet besides Tuk in almost 2 months. 2 MONTHS. What am I missing that makes this such a huge deal? WE don't have flexibility, how come YOU get to?

add in IS did not have XL, SSRM, Ultra ac or ER lasers. This games is not lore, so please stop comparing it to lore. If it was lore no one would stick with smoke Jag as they get wiped out.

This is a Beta game mode and of course there are issues.

PGI you need to stop adding new stuff and fix the issues. If you do not, you risk having players leave and you do not have the volume to keep CW running if that happens
