This post needs some serious cleaning up. Come on guys. Does it really take that long to make sure it's formatted correctly?

I didn't see anything related to fall damage in the notes. Or stuck mechanics. Disappointing.

Looks like we'll have to wait until Tuesday to get the Quirk information unless someone shows up at the PGI office during the extended Victoria Day weekend to fix it.

Hmm so they are going to nerf the FS9-A. Well it was a bit too OP.

CTF-0X is interesting. $10 not too bad with a mech bay included.

Yeah, I'll pick one up. ECM heavy is interesting at least.

The reason some chassis get ECM is because they are famous for it on later variants. (for eg the Atlas has a lot of ECM variants later on as well as heros with ECM (peter dexters for eg). Cicada too, as well as commando and cataphract.

That would be a reasonable, however...

Battlemaster BLR-4L has ECM.
Grasshopper GHR-7K has ECM.
Black Knight BLK-NT-2Y and BLK-NT-4D have ECM.
Quickdraw QKD-5Mr has ECM.
Awesome AWS-9Q has ECM.
JagerMech JM7-F has ECM.
Locust LCT-5W2 has ECM (OK, the hero got ECM, but still...)
Wolfhound WLF-4WA has ECM.
Crab CRB-30 has ECM.
Hunchback HBK-5P has ECM.
UrbanMech UM-R80 has ECM.
Victor VTR-10L has ECM.
Jenner JR10-X has ECM.
Shadowhawk SHD-8L has ECM.
Banshee BNC-8S has ECM.
Wolverine WVR-9W2 has ECM.
Vindicator VND-4L and VND-6L have ECM.
King Crab KGC-008B and KGC-009 have ECM.
Several Thunderbolt variants have ECM.
Stalker STK-3Fb has ECM (as the Star League royal variants are showing up, I'm still hoping for this variant to be released in MWO...)
Firestarter FS9-S1 has ECM (one more variant I hope will make it to the game)
Except for the 2 last mechs, all others are variants in the future of the timeline (almost every variant produced in the 3080's has ECM).

And there is not a single Commando or Cicada variant ever with ECM.

The Cataphract CTF-0X has ECM in stock. Well, sort of (it has EWE, but that's another discussion). That's why it was added (even if it was an experimental variant, with very few units produced).
But some would think the only reason to add the BLR-2C would be to make it ECM-capable...

It seams the fact some chassis will get or not ECM is more a matter of balance, not lore. So, the simple solution would be reduce the quirks in the new Battlemaster, while adding an ECM hardpoint.

Not sure if you got the memo or not, that this game isn't an exact port of the tabletop.

Wierd I masted a Commanog with ECM. Must be my imagination.

EDIT: Added the Cicada. I guess I can understand some people want to make this game a bit more "lore" friendly but then there would be no balance. IS would lose about 75-80% of most battles based on the current year, 3050, technology. Then the game would not be fun for most. I'm sure 228, QQ and other top competitive groups would move to IS for the difficulty factor but meh it would be hard for PGI to sell any of the IS packs.

Commando and Cicada got ECM much before the Clans were even a rumor. I see no problem in PGI giving ECM hardpoints to some (or even all) mechs, but if they are giving to just a few, it would be cooler if the variants to receive had at least one canonical variant with it.

When this game was released, I think it was pretty much a given that Clans were coming into play sooner or later to develop this game fully. It's like playing a game of cops and robbers with just cops... Well I guess some of the cops could be robbers but that's another discussion.

Okay back to the current discussion, agreed, that PGI should try to develop all canonical variants. They already have all the base models and now it just becomes a matter of inputting different fields for hardpoints and quirks. I'm sure they will just have to develop a plan for release through the gift shop. For future ECM releases they just have to start considering the balance of CW, which mechs are considered competitive and which ones are just for PUG lols, etc.

But in general I'm satisfied that they have been improving the game. Just feels like the game overall is in Beta (not fully developed) but I'm glad for the opportunity to play/play test it, vice waiting around just reading about it. I have a feeling based on the release/patch dates that they are considering a summer Steam release.

Gift Store link works.

Quirks Pass link doesn't.

Typical.

It should. Weapon quirks are getting WAY out of hand. They need to be toned down and only used to differentiate between variants of a chassis or as a last resort to bring up an underperformer. WAY TOO MAY SUPERQUIRKS running around.

Sorry for the confusion everyone. The news system set the patch notes live before the set publish time. Both the patch notes and the Quirk post are fully live and front-page now; all links should work.

Monday is a holiday up here in Canada. See you on patch day!

Thank you, good sir! You are a scholar and a gentleman! No need to apologize for patch notes coming early, either. Keep them up! It's excellent to have!

I'm pretty happy with the SCR and TBR nerfs.

Looks like laser vomit Timbies and Stormies will take a middling nerf, and hopefully that helps encourage more variety there. God, laser vomit is boring.

Now that we've done that, can we PLEASE get clan ballistics fixed up so they suck less? Please?

Quirk changes are quite reasonable, good job.
