But seriously, I like that we started to move somewhere and I will be even more happy to see Clan mech pushed in to skill dependent category.

The fact that you completely missed the point speaks very loudly about the problem you are creating out of nothing.

In games like this (that is games that are played against/with other people and have new content - this is regardless of it being P&P, TT or digital), no matter what sort of balancing is done, there will be some sort of meta that develops. Sometimes new content completely upends the meta that existed just before the meta was released, sometimes it doesn't.

Either way, as the game progresses, the meta *WILL* be disrupted at some point. It *NEEDS* to be disrupted, changed, destroyed or otherwise upended. This is what keeps things interesting. Truly competitive (or, at the very least, competent) will adapt and overcome. New players won't have much of a point of comparison. The only folks who will largely remain unaffected by many of these changes are people who don't give a crap about the meta will keep doing whatever it is they do.

So let's talk about single player and co-op campaign where nerfs won't matter cause AI doesn't cry on the forums.

Actually I want them all go, specially 9SS and his brothers, with 4Ns and other nosense. But apparently we can't have all good things at the same time.

Well, all clanners might as well go to IS now, since they have been killing the clans since they came out!
It would be a very nice sight, to actually see IS houses batling each other, since IS prefers to fight against clan... i can understand that, since is easier to fight clans than IS, specially now that the timber and the crow are trash now...

Like said, instead of nerfing the only truly effective weapons you can put in these chassis, I would've preferred other weapons being buffed to be an option worth considering. Now, we're left with 2 clan chassis that are heavily dependant on energy hardpoints, and now suddenly, if you want to use any energy weapons on them, you have to try to come up with an omnipod configuration that has as few energy hardpoints as possible, so that they would not be blatantly inferior to any other weapon in any other mech.

I agree that something had to be done, but this is just stupid. It's a bad, unintuitive gameplay mechanic. Who ever came up with this should be ashamed.

At least this releases about 120 million worth of modules I don't have to keep on them anymore to be able to play TBR and SCR when I feel like it.

I've been playing more HBR and Nova lately anyway.

I agree, meta is evil, but meta only on one side is even more evil. So this is not one good thing at a time. Dealing with meta is a matter of gameplay, not quirks.
And with only one fine omnimech (read Hellbringer) left, all we can do is... surprise-surprise... wait 'till it will be nerfed. 'Cause seriously, does anyone doubts that Hellbringer is going to be nerfed next?

I play the Tbr and SCR primes stock with a couple modifications (like minus one med pulse on the timber and down the 20's to 15's or 10's. So now I'm penalized for using a almost stock build that revolves around mulitple weapon systems all designed to hit a target at diffrent ranges or close if i need to (besides Lrms) and now my four lasers on the TBR are fireing faster but along with that they do less damage per second now. Why nerf the stormcrow prime's default loadout? Instead of saying "NO LASERS ON YOUR BEST MECHS CLANNERS! How about These mechs are tier 1 they don't need any quirks to make them worse or better their fine as quirkless

I think he meant that he wanted all of the laser vomit to go. I can sortof share that sentiment.

That's how I feel about the Firestarter.

I don't entirely disagree with nerfing laser boating on the TBR and SCR. I just think this was a poor way to do the nerfing. Even bringing a reasonable amount of lasers is punished this way. I also think that the IS laser boats could've been taken down a peg or two as well, but I guess if you piss off too many people at once the community will revolt.
