A better idea I think, (while not allowing you to double up like some may want), would be a Mirror Mech option.
Maybe in upgrades, maybe make it cost a nominal ammount (say 100,000 C-Bills) to do.

Then you choose 'standard' or 'inverted' and when inverted, the CT remains the same, but everything that was Left is now Right, and everything that was Right is now Left.

DUAL ECM!

What effect would that have on the Jesus Box?
Logically, it would require 2 counters to counter, same as 2 mechs having ECM.

Alternatively, if switched to Counter, it would counter up to 2 ECM.

It'd be sweet to have one ecm counter and the other jam.

I didn't realize you spending thousands on MWO and then somehow "not becoming the target audience" was even remotely relevant to mirrored omnipods.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ But whatevs.

Timber Wolf A pod mirrored over, WHERE IS YOUR STALKER NOW?!?!?

if they did Mirror some Pods, that one would totally be on the not happening list, :)

Yes, I totally would. Then I could have a dakka timber wolf.

still think this could not only work, but allow for many more Omni Options, and work within lore, :)

I think we should definitely have mirrored pods, but I don't necessarily think ALL pods should have a mirror. Torsos, I think, should probably NOT be mirrored, but arms certainly should. There seems no reason whatsoever that arms can't be mirrored without effecting balance, as clan arm pods are very limited and specific in what can be put on them. They offer an array of choices for builds, but don't provide a significant avenue for builds that themselves are overpowered.

The Warhawk, specifically I think, NEEDS mirrored arm pods. The 3-energy and 1-energy/1-ballistic pods need mirrors. Timberwolves could use the ballistic arm for both, as could the Stormcrow. Perhaps then we'd see more non-Meta builds.

Nope, balance would go out the window. No amount of negative quirks could supplement the insane boating, and having only a select few omnipods as "okay to mirror" makes no real sense. Only the gimpiest omnipods would be mirror-able as well (assuming that we limit mirror-able omnipods to a select few), which doesn't really help anyone or any build.

Examples: 14E Gargoyle
14E Nova
Ballistic boat Timber
Ultra missileboat Summoner
A decent Mist Lynx with okay payload, which is apparently not allowed
Way too many lasers/missiles on a Stormcrow
etc. These are just the most extreme fringe cases that I could think off the top of my head.

Yeah.

Mirror mech = Good, no less balanced than it is right now, but gives an extra option.
Additional Mirrored non-canon pods. = Unbalanced ***********.

Id take a 1E 1B arm pod for both sides of the WHK.

Ofc, with 20 locked DHS, cant get enough room to mount any ammo...ugh.

I'd do it.

The problems with balance wouldn't be as bad as many think, even with those pods that the OP claims couldn't / shouldn't be mirrored. 2 solutions would be either:
- only allow 1 per mech of a "mirrored" pod
- let the weapon weight heat and ammo balance them

Dual ECM would only be an issue against ECM in disrupt mode.

Aren't Novas 12E by default, and pretty much impossible to use when fully loaded? You can't mount enough heatsinks to counter all the heat. You're limited to volleying a handful of lasers at a time. That's pretty self-balancing. A 14E anything would be no less of an issue.

A dakka Timber? Weight and space limited. You're not going to be able to mount more than 3 ballistics on this thing for weight and space reasons anyway. By all means though, try to cram in 4 UAC2s and do vastly less damage than a 2 UAC5 Timber which is currently possible. Or a single UAC10 with a massive spread of other weapons, also possible. It's just not efficient.

Missile boats, ineffective in real combat due to poor tuning of LRMs and poor SRM hit reg.

Only adds one more missile rack to the SCR, still space-limited. Mirrored A-arm brings total E-slots possible to 11. Less than default Nova, and still too hot to run.

On counter though, add much-needed improvements to the Warhawk, and options to the SCR and TBR that simply don't exist now as viable alternatives to laser boats. If you limit mirroring to arm pods, you avoid a lot of issues like a super-laser TBR. Still, such a mech would be so hot as to be unusable, and would get like, a 30% debuff to laser duration and cooling efficiency so... lose-lose for putting it on.

Yup, i still think this would help Some OmniMechs,
how about this only allow this for OmniMechs without Endo?
that way the MLX, KFX, ADR, IFR, SCR, EBJ, TBR, wouldnt have Mirrored Pods,
that way the non Endo OmniMechs may gain a Slight Buff,

Never going to happen, would break the game and make some mechs so OP no one would play anything else, actually a few are like that already and this would just increase that stance.

Could you Give Examples of Which OmniMechs would Become Op?
and which Op OmniMechs would Become even more Op?

then the KFX-G which has a LA-ECM comes out it will be possible to have Dual ECM,
some may think its will be a problem i really i dont with it will be,

just make it act as 2 ECMs,
1) in normal mode it takes 2 Counters to Counter it,
2) in Counter Mode it can Counter 2 ECM Suits,
this way it will be balanced in MWO, :)

Gaussx2(25shots) & ER-MLx3(Back up Weapons), could be Amazing, :P
or 2UAC10x2(60Shots) & MLPx3(Back up Weapons), could be Cool, B)

Edit-
Remember this would help many OmniMechs, and it is Possible according to Lore,
Balance wise +1-2 hard points wont Break any of these mechs as most are at or below Average,
