It will also include a warhorn that screams out 'Get good, scrub!" when you make a kill.
Its signature piece will be a holographic countertop item that flashes "MercStar hax!" to remind players that their own defeat is not their fault, but a combination of terrible servers, lag, overpowered weaponry, underpowered armor, and exploiting programs in use by illicit MercStar pilots.

There is a saying in the news business. If it burns, it earns. If it bleeds, it leads.
In the free to play business, if it power creeps, it power sells.
Power creep is ANY form of power creep big or small. The KDK3 and the Nite Gyr have shown to push the envelope without any quirks whatsoever.
Within the framework of CW, omnitech itself makes things logistically MUCH easier for clan players. You can build almost any of the builds for CW on any variant of that chassis. With Inner Sphere, you have to own dupes to get dupes of the quirks or hardpoints you need. Some people are not willing to consume mechbays on duplicate IS mechs. So without even talking about anything else we already have this factor.
Clan mechs have better XLs and certain Clan mechs are just faster. This often puts IS at a disadvantage where having the time to set up is a problem, especially on the maps with the newer fortified large spawn areas. The Clan team can rush through the gates and catch the IS team of guard. This issue can be reduced just by making sure everyone is running XLs but often IS just has slow mechs in the mix. Some of the mechs have low engine caps anyways.
Other than that I dont really think the tech base is a big factor in CW. In order for tech base to be a factor you MUST have two teams of = ability facing each other. In all other instances, the match is likely decided before the game even started.

That's the whole point of the Clans. Not to be equal to your enemy, but better.
But just to entertain the thought, while on Clan Wolf, for two straight seasons, MercStar begged the developers to make Clan technology "suck," which is why we have the "balance" that we do that is "Mechwarrior Online."

Lol Mercstar , 228 and hand full of other mercs jump to IS outnumbering clan pugs 4 to 1 driving them back to one planet just because IS got some quirks to balance this game.
It wasn't until Russ dropped the nerf nuke , hitting 70+ IS mechs did they all move back to Clan easy mode.

And lot of merc groups have shifted between Clan and IS lately. It is some IS loyalist who have 'defected' that is causing most problems atm.

However, these will only be available to MercStar pilots, further justifying the notion that need not be mentioned here.

This was coupled on top of the drive to create the "economy" presented by Phase 3, which all of us "kept asking for." It has been suggested this was a better option than creating an "easy mode discount store on mechs as reward for farming pugs."
MercStar, therefore, is ENTIRELY to blame for the shortcomings of Phase 3, as the community in itself is the "number-one issue with Community Warfare."
MercStar OP-plz ban PGI.

Kin3ticX knows what he's talking about. I think he and others in -MS- have always said clans have a tech advantage, but IS quirks were rolled out to counter it in many ways. There's still differences that affect playstyle, as Kin mentioned, but they really only matter in FP where mech choice is restricted. Even then, differences in tech generally aren't the deciding factor in a match.
If you're a b33f fan, watch the Maximum LRM video he published recently. Widely considered the worst of all possible weapons for FP, but in the right hands and using the right strategy, just completely decimated a (admittedly, pug-filled) clan team, including a pile of KDK-3's. Tech was completely irrelevant there.
