While I respect the other guy for attempting to defend his friend, I think "It wasn't me, it was my little baby daughter!" is an incredibly implausible explanation.

(That explanation reminds me of a Belgian race cyclist who was caught with performance-enhancing drugs in his possession. He explained the drugs were for his dog, who supposedly had diabetes or some such illness. The cyclist later died in his sleep at 34, with drugs on his bedside. Not sure what became of the dog.)

The guy shifts blames his daughter for the cheat hacks in his computer. As a father myself, what kind of a lowly loser human being does that? I am even more convinced that he needs to be banned.

I applied for a random key, but never got one, so I got into closed beta with a PC Gamer key and then bought a founder's pack after a month or so.

i was merely playing devils advocate
as to the short list and very public actions

there will always be cheating because they can

from a business perspective
scope and scale of cheating must be minimised
to restore customer confidence
they can do it one of two ways
do it for real : spend lots of cash/time/effort to crack down
or
look scarier/bigger than they actually are : serve up a token set and make prounouncements

no conspiracy no paranoia on my part

either way I am happy they have donr this
Love this game too much for it to be ruined any further
