Why not have separate Leaderboards for solo & grouped scores?

Not a bad idea, though it would thin out the amount of players a bit. Would just be better to make the same solo only rules from the last time IMO.

And I feel pretty screwed over because of it.

I don't I loved the CW event for clans :)

I hate leaderboards

because it is unhealthy... Because it ruins the gameplay... Because you can not have fun during one... because you can't do it and be done with it... Because it makes me want to puke for a month after the event if i hear or see anything MWO related (good thing actually)

Yeah I don't understand the leader board obsession in what is primarily a team game. Encourages selfish gameplay

Its not all the time and makes an ok event now and then.
The formula also makes it worth winning so people cant be totally selfish.

Why so much time given for such a low challenge event. Nearly everyone I see is rockn kickers horn already. No challenge at all unlike the clan event last week that only a select few got to participate in. Disappointment here:(

I disagree, whenever there is an event or leaderboards that focuses on damage you see an increase in selfish behaviour.

People will kill steal, deliberately block shots, hide at the back of the team in a LRM boat etc.

Teamwork goes completely out of the window.

I just avoid the public queues when this happens. It isn't so bad when only some are eligible (like resistance r owners for example). What I don't want to see is a return to this formula for events. The match score system works so much better.

Tldr: people get selfish when you count kills and damage instead of match score.

Much like all the freebies, the intent is to give you a taste of the premium content. Somebody, somewhere, sometime....will get tired of having the same warhorn everybody else has and buy another.

more likely the intent is to distract from the fact that this game is still in open beta and is missing some major content for years.
so give them some cheap in game items regulary, lots of new mechs to buy and a vote which champion mech is buyable next and.. thats it.

dont get me wrong i like events where i can win some goodies but this is an online game and it needs much more content to be released for years now.

How are you disappointed in free stuff?
Its been three out of four weekends for IS players. Three of four weekends!

That means this whole month has been stacked with free goodies, premium time, and c-bills. you should have had ample time on at least one of those weekends to get some free loot.
Can't see how anyone, no matter how casual, can be disappointed in any of that.

I hope this event helps root out a few more cheaters.

It may be.
Had a match where a Dire Wolf ally suddenly could not charge his dual Gauss.
Had another where a Blackjack did not walk, it slid as it moved, everyone else was fine. Someone in that one called hack.

There's a new one.
The Losers League Event!
Get the lowest score!

Group... well.. there goes a lot of the skill requirement... way to easy to stack for one player to get a score... such an unfair advantage for those who abuse this system. :(

Only 1 of my qualifying games was from group drops and sitting nicely at #1..

Am in agreement with the others who feel the leaderboard should be solo drop only like previous ladder events. Whilst I think most people will play fair in the group queue, it would be better to at least avoid the chance of it. I understand some would argue I can't play with my friends as a result and there is merit in that, the temptation though is still there.

Thank you for the free stuff. But please up the score requirements a bit next time, so that it remotely feels like a challenge. 30 points is just too little.

Because they wanted people to go clan - CW was dead, use their I variant, and cap planets for the flaccid clans.
Notice you need NOT use the Resistant variant to cap 20pts this weekend.
Hell, I ran summoners for LOLS.
LAST weekend clan(I) event was to pump players into clan for CW...
