Basically what I've mentioned in this topic: https://mwomercs.com...ncing-thoughts/

that and pretty much do what i mentioned above with my topic. incentivize clanners to act slightly more like clanners, and equalize out the merc units on each side. we don't need IS Vs Clans and IS with Clantech.

that 10 damage c/er-ppc though xD

Retro Mech releases!
I mean new variants of old chassis already in the game, maybe one a month. Make them available for 5 bucks a pop, with a cbill bonus version for 10 bucks. I hate waiting months to see a new mech in the game, having flash sales (not preorders!) like these might get a lot more people hyped and willing to support the game. Hold off on special patterns and what not and reduce the workload in designing them. Don't up the price the way it was with the Heroes, and I think a lot more people might be interested in picking them up.

not sure if this is already in the suggestions - it seems reasonable. I wonder if in-match reinforcements would work. players could queue (individually) for 4 mech reinforcement units in QP or FP.

teams being badly beaten can call for reinforcement - company commander calls with grid coordinate for reinforcement.

This would be a place where lots of us could get more quickly into existing matches and would offer an opportunity for more team work and leadership.

Flamer visual rework, please Posted Image
Someone posted a video of an actual plasma flame on the forum post above that accurately represents sort of what it should look like.

I miss using flamers so much, but just cant stomach using them with the current graphic, honestly its upsetting.
Once upon a time they were one of my favorite weapons to use in the game for brawling.

People have been complaining about flashlight flamers for months PGI, please do something for the visuals.

Thanks!

======================================

I don't think that the flamers are realistic to begin with. What I would like to see is for the flamers to be turned into napalm canons. bathing a 'Mech with a napalm stream would be a lot more fun visually and allow a little residual heat generation as it burns itself out when on the target 'Mech. You could also spray it on trees/buildings/bases etc to create distractions or even partially block line of site sometimes. I think it would make it a much more FUN weapon. Just an idea...

I like your idea, but I would like to see it taken a step further. I would like to see PGI create a web page where we could go and enter a variant of an existing in game 'Mech that we would like to have them add to the game. Then it would present that variant on that page and allow other players to also select that variant 'Mech as one they would like to see added to the game. As an example... I already have every Victor currently offered in the game but I would like to have the VTR-10L variant added to the game. I could go to this web page and enter this variant request and it would then become available on that page for other players to increase the request count by selecting that same 'Mech. This could be done for any variant of any existing 'Mech already in the game. Once PGI decided to build this variant, they could put in an "Under Construction" icon on that web page on that variant 'Mech name and give a completion date when it would be available for purchase. We could also be notified by text or email upon its completion. I think this would be a good and efficient way for PGI to get ideas of what 'Mechs the player base would like to see in the game.

I agree, a voting system for variants that exist in lore or otherwise would even be better. For me the key would be having it as a monthly release, and a reason to keep checking on the website for that "mech of the month". It would likely up the amount of players in weekly events as well, just due to the traffic alone.

On Pre-order mechs, How about some reward for pre orders after the early adopter?
The early adopter program has great rewards but sometimes I find myself without funds to order during the month of the early adopter. A smaller reward program would be nice. As a suggestion, just reward pre orders after the adopter has expired with C-bills or decals. or a 3 million C-bill reward and 2 supply caches. This could boost sales of mech packs. Perhaps get newer players to invest into game a little earlier.

For add-on packs add 1 million C-bills for each mech pack purchased. This will increase add-on sales.

I would like to see a scaled SP allowance on pre orders.

23 for basic pack, 64 for hero add on and a full 91 if you order the whole shootin' match.

This would be similar to giving out free modules in the old day.

I know that I have already stated what I want, but I'm going to state these reasons thoroughly:

New Maps - Aside from Rubeillete Oasis, the lack of new maps is a reason why I hesitate spending money and playing this game. Man, I see more mech packs being spat out like Tommy gun bullets instead of new maps. Look, I know that PGI needs the revenue with new mechs, but would it at least kill them to make new maps instead? I love seeing new mechs as much as the next person, but when you put out more mechs to the point where you admit that you haven't made a new map since last year, that's pretty sad. Now I am relieved to hear that we are going to see a full City Map next year as well as new Solaris maps such as Boreal Reach and The Jungle, but we still need much more map variety to make up for being on the same monotonous stuff we've been having for years. At this point, I'd rather see new maps instead of mechs.

New Periphery Factions for the IS - Since the clans have new factions, it's only fitting that the Inner Sphere should get their new factions as well. The Periphery comes to mind, as well as other factions. I'd love to see the Taurian Concordat and Marian Hegemony among others. At this point, who cares about colored dots? They can be grouped with the IS factions based on lore and alliances.

Homeworld Factions for the Clans - Congratulations to the people who got their freedom to represent the Clans they wanted to be, I am happy for you. Now that the Nova Cats, Diamond Sharks and Steel Vipers have their freedom, it's about time that the Homeworld Clans get theirs. With the Clan Homeworlds opened up, the other clans should stop holding hands with the Big 4. I've met people who are Hell's Horses, Star Adders, etc. Even I am a Goliath Scorpion at heart and I want my clan to come out. After carrying the tag of the Invaders for 4 years now, I think it is time to stop riding on the coat-tails of the Invaders and wear my own clan icon. If home clan decals could make it in, so should the home worlders. Just give the new clans the colors of the big 4 and make new insignias for them like the 3 reserve clans.

RPG elements for factions - I would love seeing factions have personality because as they are right now, the factions are just forum icons to show people who you are representing. Whether you see yourself as an "Honorable Clan Warrior against a sea of Barbarians", a "Noble IS soldier fighting the Invading Clan Scum", a "Loyal Davion fighting the Treacherous Kuritan Snakes" or "Warden Wolf fighting the Crusader oppression of the Jade Falcons", factions should have their own NPC leaders like Khan, Coordinators, Archons, etc with voice actors and actresses. It could prove to be beneficial in FP, giving you a reason to fight as a Loyalists instead of a mercenary. Now if you don't care much about faction lore, then that is fine but for me personally, I'd rather a reason to know who and why I am fighting for my faction and why it matters to me instead of playing along with the same old CoD mentality of Faction play or going along with mercenary prostitution like other units. Anyone who thinks that voice acting for FP is impossible due to technical difficulties, I want to give you some examples: Dropship Dan and Angry Clan Man in game modes, the SideStrafe Command Wheel, Captain Adams in the Mechwarrior Academy, and 3 "warhorns" walkie-talkies that shout: Nice Shot, Tango Down, and Kill Secured. So I really don't what to hear that excuse. But for selecting factions, give us a portrait of the faction leader in question and change the text to them welcoming players to their faction. That would be better than having a wall of text telling you about a faction. The NPC leaders could even appear in faction events.

IS Brigade Decals and Clan Galaxy Decals - For those who want to call themselves Clan Steel Viper Intergalactic [CSVI] or Golden Sword of Light [GSoL], let them have more IS brigade and Clan Galaxy to represent the unit they were meant to be. I was happy when I saw the Clan Decals for my homeworld Goliath Scorpion unit and that made me extremely glad. Decals like that add some flavor to the game when you know about their lore. It also gives the RPers them some excitement when they get to have the tools to represent the cannon unit they want.

The IIC Mechs - It's nice to see that we get to have a round-up of Mechwarrior 4 and 2 Mechs, but the Warhammer IIC, and Rifleman IIC should be in there as well. I wouldn't mind seeing the rare designs such as the Commando IIC, Wyvern IIC, and the Guillotine IIC as well.

IS OmniMechs - Although I love playing with my clan Omnimechs, I think that the IS should get their own as well. The reason that PGI doesn't want to add them in because "We don't want the Inner Sphere to copy the Clans." is a pretty lousy excuse and utter BS. Especially with using the Origins Mechs, turning IS mechs into IIC versions with clan-tech. Additionally, due to the time jump, the IS have their versions of Clan technology as well, such as LBXs, Ultra Autocannons, ER Lasers, and Streak SRMs. So if a person demands to have an inbred Kit Fox, IS Dire Wolf with A FREAKING LASER CIGAR!, the IS Mad Dog, or the Mechwarrior 3 Nova, then give the people what they want! They are going to use IS equipment anyway so why not?

New siege maps for FW, preferably made with multiple height levels, made by an actual level designer - with lighting that doesnt look like its made in UT 2004 engine - also not insanely hot like 80% of all maps are. Also lay off the wonky terrain and excrement terrain collisionboxes. Invisible collision and getting stuck on twigs and pebbles is "not fun"

a few new things I would love to see:

- Single Player scenario or missions - for either offline play or when you're having a bad day at PVP and want to try something different, but still love mechwarrior.
- 1 on 1 - for when you want to test how well your mech performs against another skilled veteran.
- New Game Modes - Always love seeing new game modes out there.
Would love to see one where you can actually search for and destroy the enemies drop ship, which is of course heavily armed with lasers and is at an unknown location, then you have to get to it and take it down before the enemy arrives and gets the upper hand, or it evacuates. This would of course have to be on a much larger map. For one team its a rescue operation, for the other its search and destroy.
Would also love to see a race to power up an Omega and then die trying to take it down lol
Kind of like an epic big boss batlle

- More maps (obviously) keep the creativity going!!!
- More wildlife in different maps to make them feel more alive. now I'm not talking about on maps like HPG or Rubellite Oasis where no life forms could possibly exist, but in other more terrestrial maps like Crimson Strait, Emerald Tiaga, Forest Colony, and River City. Viridian Bog, youve mostly already done this...although some flying insect species would be nice to see in the map
- Harsher Weather Conditions that make Sniping more difficult giving Brawling mechs & lights the upper hand. Especially when used in conjunction with ambush tactics! (Think of a little Urbie mech running around blasting holes in assaults rear CT's and then dissappearing into the thick fog)
- Maps with different Gravity - If you're on some distant moon or some massive planet piloting a spider, jump distance and fall damage should be affected.
- Destructible Terrain - I agree with some of the earlier posts about Destructible terrain. I would love to see that feature built in. There would be nothing more appealing than blowing up the caps on the hills in Canyon Network that some little ravens keep hiding behind and then watching them run for the hills!
- More shiney paint colours & camo's - because theres nothing funnier than walking across the battlefield looking like a giant laser disco ball of death!
- Minor Asthetic Armor options/decorations (for hero mechs)- this is just an idea I'm thowing out there, because why not have Scars, skulls or spikes showing on your mech just to look that much more intimidating. Like a Kodiak or Atlas with red glowing eyes & spiked shoulders, or a claw on one hand.
- Melee Combat - because whats better than an atlas pounding the Sh*t out of a masakari in a real brawling match?
This would allow for other melee weapon customization options:http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Category:Melee_Weapons
Posted Image

a few improvements I would be hoping for in the not too distant future:

- Zoom Reticle micro-dead zone fix - pinpoint accuracy is hard when your shooting down a UAV or trying to hit the cockpit of a target thats a little over 1000m away with a couple ER L Lasers. the targeting reticle jumps a small bit and the UAV or target is sometimes in that micro-dead zone of the targeting reticle that you can never reach unless you move around.
- Angle Left and Right arm targeting reticles away from center position or set to near/far distance - wasn't really sure what to call this one, but you know that annoying situation when the weapons in your right arm are sticking out from behind cover, and there's a target there, yet you go to shoot that target with your right arm and it hits the wall no matter what because the damned wall is at the center of the mech? there should be a way to move your left and right arm targeting reticles away from the center to aim for near/far in order to avoid hitting those damned pillars/walls that your using for cover.
- Back up camera or Top down camera - have another window open in the cockpit that shows either a rear view camera or a top view camera so you know when your damned leg or shoulder keeps hitting a wall when you're trying to move back behind cover. haha

and thats all I have for right now.

Um a persistent mode? Even if it didn't yield as much rewards, I'd play the heck out of it! Match by match just kills my immersion!

AND I CAN'T BE ME AND NOT SAY THIS!

CHANCE AT CORE EXPLOSIONS, IN A STEAMY LIGHT SHOW OF GLORY! IT DOESNT HAVE TO DO DMG TO SURROUNDINGS! This kinda thing has happened since the dawn of mechwarrior, to me it just doesn't feel right. EVEN IN THE PITCHING VIDEO FOR MWO IT WAS THERE!

So I started playing a month or so ago and posted something at that time about the ingame and after game feedback (or lack thereof). Another month and a couple hundred battles later and I still think there are huge area's of improvement to be realized. Specifically:

1. I want to know how much damage I do to different mechs. At a minimum I would like to see the specifics damage I do to the enemy mechs individually at the end of the match. It would be even better if I saw the damage done during the match itself. The game already tallies the damage, I just want to see it by mech and/or at the same time it is done.

2. In the data page (the link we can sign in and go to showing how much damage or how many kills we have) I think it would be really REALLY helpful if we could see the historical results of a specific battle. If I want to see how I did in a battle I have to wait around for the game to end or I don't know the results of me or my team. The benefit of providing a report showing the battle results in the report page is that you know if you did well relative to your team, you know if your team won/lost, you know if you got a supply cache, etc. Combined with #1 above, you can begin to improve your battle acumen. In addition, if I leave immediately I can then start another game immediately. This should marginally speed up games starting.

3. Better instructions on Faction play. I have yet to play in any faction game because I really dont know how to do it, and dont know what I get from it. If this is something MWO wants to promote, then they should promote it.

4. As noted earlier, a better description of some of the game mechanics. For instance, I just bought 2 RAC/5 for my Rifleman. I thought I had enough heat syncs but I was grossly underestimating how much heat these weapons produce. I have no idea why they run so hot, but apparently there is some factor in the game that heats up my mech when I fire these weapons. Would have been nice to know before I bought the mech.

I think all of these things should be doable. The information on the battles (#1 and 2 above) is really critical to bring into the game actual number crunching wargamers and increasing the draw of the game. I hope PGI can look into this.

I'm sure this has been mentioned many times .. But can we get a fix to AMS so it doesnt clip through walls/floors/everything? renders some builds mostly useless when afew 3ams kitfoxes are sitting on level2 up against the wall on the HPG manifold etc.

It simply has to require line of sight.

Some of us have been playing Mechwarrior and Battletech series for YEAR, and unfortunately are now older.... I would like to see CUSTOMIZABLE HUD ELEMENTS: I.E. size, color and placement, for those of us that happen to be colorblind and have worsening vision (Me and others LOL) I love what's happened with MWO so far and I'm glad that you guys routinely use the forums to glean new ideas for updates and the like. I CAN'T WAIT FOR SOLARIS MATCHES!!!!
Choice between standard mini map/full map as current model, and NEW/SIMPLE TOPOGRAPHIC MAP.

Lastly, I'd like to have a revisiting of points distribution based on objectives.
Skirmish is the only game mode that it makes sense to have point totals based on pure damage, components destroyed and so forth.
In every other mode, a higher cbill and point payout, should go to those who play the objective and or help with that.
Lights capping points, Destruction of enemy base, Defense of base upon enemy team entering... It owuld promote teamwork in the lower tiers as well as communication, which is the whole point of MMO's isn't it?

I also have a question, is there any chance of seeing the SUPERHEAVY Battlemech classes ever entering the field?and or multi-legged variants?

Thanks for a great game guys.

I've been playing now since about a month after launch. In the past there were some issues I thought should be changed to fit 'lore'. But remembering that the lore changed quite a bit I can understand why some things get changed. For example, true Clan Omni Mechs. It would be nice to have the ability to plug and play weapons and equipment based not on ballistics, energy or missile slots, but rather on the number of omni hard points you have and energy usage, weight and size of the items. I remember in some MW game where small weapons could be placed 2 in 1 power slot. And something like Gauss Rifles needing 3 power slots AND 5 structure slots. I dont really see this happening in this game, but it would be nice.
Other than that and knowing that some of these may be repeats;
1) New and better environment dynamics, especially gravity. Low-G: Mechs would travel faster, very fast mechs might have trouble turning and stopping. Ballistics and missiles could get better range and speed and Jump Jets of course would get better lift
High-G: Mechs would be slower, Jump Jets would be less effective, ballistics and missile would suffer range. But imagine the fun of 'lobbing' AC rounds over a hill on a blind target zone!
2) I am blind to certain colors and rely more on contrast, it would be nice to have a customizable HUD interface, colors and reticles. I'm almost useless on cold 'whiteout' conditions as the very light green\blue of the current HUD does not have good contrast to the Thermal or Night Vision feature.
3) A LOT of people would like to see Mech Melee, I'm no different. Can even make a degrading structure on the weapons so mechs couldnt rely on melee alone.
4) I know some things might not be worth the effort, but a pilot work shop so we could create and submit personal mech paint patterns, say for a price of 5000MC or something comparable could be fun.
5) And to finish with more customizations, I'm not sure of what licencing who has where, but if PGI owns enough the game rights, why not create your own mechs never seen before? Themed mechs, gag mechs....Steam Punk Atlas or something.
And finally,...Thank you for giving us this Forum.

What I want to see far more then new maps and even mechs is a proper after battle report. A report you can view from the mech bay that gives damage done by weapon type. Thats what it should be at a bare minimum. Ideally it should also give what range the damage was done at and have detailed breakdown of every enemy you damaged telling what parts you hit for how much damage.
