I can't have an opinion about MechAssault as I was in an "anti-xbox" console person in favour of Nintendo and Playstation instead. And PC of course... That said I don't ever have a desire to try these games based on what I have heard... I'll stick to the computer when it comes to giant robots of death.

What exactly was wrong with Mechassault 1 and 2?

For the people who hate the games did you even play them?

LOL but according to the MechAssault 2 commentary, they said it was what they always wanted to achieve for a console version of MW (paraphrasing). I threw it in my Xbox just to watch it again to make sure I remembered it right, I thought they said they made "the" perfect MW game, but thankfully I got it wrong.

Come to think of it, I wonder if all the people who are stuck at 96% on their beta application clicked they played that game. I own it, but didn't admit to ever having played it (mostly because I forgot it existed, until I started reading the forums).

I never played MechAssault 1, but with 2 I did enjoy hacking mechs though. As mentioned before that uncomplete mech was a pain to kill. I just didn't like having unlimited ammo and powerups.

It should have been called something else, since it was such a wild deviation of what mechwarrior is.

my only problem with mechassault was how bad they messed up the fiction
