Aussie here, we like our days off so we carry them over to the monday for a long weekend.

Not quite the same, but they're getting closer to it.
i can hear it now "Due to the fact we already have a mech similar to it, i dont think were going to introduce the rifleman at release"

As much as I'd like to see the unseen mechs reappear in MWO, I just don't see it happening at this point. Just too much of a legal headache at this point to sort out the mess that represents Robotech. Given the legal history surrounding the unseen mechs, I doubt that PGI will be able to (or want to) purchase the legal rights or obtain the ability to license this intellectual property. Big West, Tatsunoko, Studio Nue and Harmony Gold are not the only entities that PGI would have to potentially contend with for licensing since the Internet obviously transcends national borders. Several of the unseen designs have also been licensed out on an individual level.

I know right. All of the redesigns have been fantastic. Especially comparing to the old artwork on Sarna. Hell, their artwork even has me interested in the Raven for once!

I hear ya! The Raven used to be butt ugly in my opinion... Now it looks phenomenal.

Hey, who knows, maybe they'll have the random critical through armor like in the boardgame and you can damage their gyro while doing two points of damage to their armor. It'll be awesome! Wait...

I suspect that it won't be introduced, as it would not be according to the canon timeline. Sarna claims AP rounds began in 3053.
I would love inferno missiles, however.

I'm actually referring to the hit location table where a die roll of 2 results in a critical chance to the center torso (if they're attacking from the front or rear at least). Always frustrating to have an assault mech fall on it's face in the first turn because something like a Warrior helicopter pinged it in the chest from across the battlefield.

Oh yeah. Forgot about that rule. Still, without jump jet you'd be hard pressed to get many long range shots onto a target before they are within their weapons range. So exploiting the range will be difficult/highly dependent upon the map. TT had the same problem with AC/2s: too many trees and hills, usually.
MW3 had to be a golden age for small ACs.

If you're feeling the need to gamble a bit and find yourself in a tight map, try a pair of AC/20s. Again, the arm-mounted cannons will track quickly, but this time they'll hit much harder. This would be a great gatekeeper or bodyguard for fire support. The armor will be criminally light (unless you go with a smaller engine...), but I wouldn't want to be the first mech to meet it coming around a corner.

I really hope that the devs allow us to eliminate the lower arm and hand actuators on mechs that clearly lack these parts. Otherwise, it will be impossible to fit arm mounted AC/20s.
