One day in, and (as expected) -MS- is up on points and planets ... a tribute to their size, organization, and dedication to win CW at all costs.
I am the first to admit, I LIKE the Invasion game mode, both as an attacker and a defender. I like that we're fighting an attrition battle across a larger front than just 12-vs-12 team death match. I like that timing, maneuvering, counter-attacking,and other tactics all have elements that can contribute to a victory.
That said, I do not like it when cheesy tactics can instantly win (like light rushing gens before the shields) or that cheesy tactics can prolong a decided game unnecessarily (like camping in your own spawn or hiding on counter-attack). I also am not fond of the typically long queue times, but until more people play ...
I like the idea of a CW event that rewards a unit's organization and dedication, but there should be more incentive for smaller units and solo players to participate, even if it's only increased CB or LP rewards.
However, the main problem with CW will be attracting and retaining players ... solo, small unit, and large unit ... keeping them interested and invested in the Inner Sphere map. Right now, other than conquering enough planets to get a [228] cockpit trinket (which I really want), there's no incentive to play CW.
