The mech is what we want we want the mech layout and tonnage. We played table top with those card counters and a sheet full of o's also the mech had a horn on its head what the hell was that thinking about it.

All the mwo art has been of great quality and gives the universe of mwo a unified look, I am more than happy to get MWO versions of the unseen but they need to be called the same.

P.s if anyone suggests the battle master from mechtech im sorry but thats an issue :P

Well put. If they do unseen redesigns and the people at PGI see fit, I'd love to see what they do with the Goliath and the Scorpion eventually, quads will always hold a special place in my heart.

As for that THING from mechtech, it is not a Battlemaster and I refuse to refer to it as such.

P.S. Quads were a fantastic design challenge using the revised edition of the Master Rules. You'd be surprised at what you can squeeze into one of those things, and on the assault class ones armor values to put an Atlas to shame. Course this is coming from a guy who crammed an Arrow IV launcher into a VTOL chasis for giggles once. (still wish I'd gotten the chance to play test that sucker) Pardon my nostalgia.

This thread is jam packed full of missinformation.

None of the images were ever stollen. They were licensed for use. FASA made the decision to pull the images preimptively, and let the license lapse.

Harmony gold only has licensing rights to mech images originating from the Macross series. They are:

Stinger
Wasp
Valkyrie
Phoenix Hawk
Crusader
Hornet
Ostroc
Ostsol
Ostscout
Archer
Warhammer
Rifleman
Longbow
Marauder
Marauder II

Making some Mechs that were unseen in the clear for release. There are rumors that even the Macross images have been cleared.

Original poster actually knows nothing of what PGI has in plan for the unseen/reseen models, whether they have license to use them or not or whether the mechs may end up as cash shop items.

We wait, we don't assume.

They are from other copyright owners:

http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Unseen

although I thought it was that they got the rights to use from the Asian copyright owners, just that the right to use in the U.S was already given to the current owners.

the 3025 mechs look great and iconic(referring to the Technical Readout 3025). the rest look rubbish...

without the 3050 clan designs, i'm sure battletech died an early death.

in playing tabletop games, imagination is importante. if the mechs don't look stunning/great then there is no point in playing.

There are others as well... Wolverine, and Scorpion

But those are from Crusher Joe, and Dougram and presumably ok.

HOW can you say the UNSEEN arent going to be in it. The warhammer was featured in the trailer.
I have been waiting for my 3025 Phoenix Hawk.

personal favorite marauder image (and it looks different enough from the macross stuff to avoid legal shenanigans, or atleast in my opinion it does)

Well most people don't realize this but ALL (or most) of the unseen mechs where reseen as of Technical Readout: Project Phoenix
Posted Image

For instance this is the ReSeen Marauder (albeit the MAD-5R variant), they still sell the miniature and it's image has been used in publications. These mechs could easily be used for this game without fear of legal reprisal.

The rights to the unseen mechs still remain the same. Those of you who don't know what the unseen mechs are, here's the list of the mechs that will NOT be appearing in mechwarrior online:

Archer
BattleMaster
....

This list was attained from sarna. Thank you and have a great day.

And you got it WRONG

Locust
Griffin
Shadow Hawk
Thunderbolt
Scorpion
Wolverine
Battlemaster

Are reseen, and we may get them. They are again part of the BT license !

The Macross mech's too for everyone not in the US, as in US is the ROBOTECH License by Golden Harmony.
( Macross is International and they got the License into the BT license but in the US Market Golden Harmony made a seperate License out of Macross called Robotech, and the Robotech license is the Problem with out beloved Mech's)

The funny thing is that Ral Partha produced the Macross Mech till around 1999 or 2000 for the European Market, but where forbade to import to US. In Europe it was legal, because Macross didn't block the Mech's.

Maybe when we get the European Server i will get my Warhammer :D .
