Merry Christmas? Looks like my ping is back down to 190 for the first time in at least 6 months. Maybe enough of the cheap cables got cut that my cheapskate provider was forced to go through a decent link for once.

Now my ping time to oceanic is only as bad as everyone else's instead of being considerably worse. Seriously, who is this server for? The game's 5 fans in Singapore?

I'm in NSW Australia, fibre-to-the-premises, and get a ping around 230-250 to Oceanic, and about 230-280 to US... What was the point of an Oceanic server again?

Why is it called Oceanic when it's a SEA server? Takes longer to get to Singapore from NZ than it does US West.

There are still people in 2017 who think Singapore is part of China. So it's not difficult to imagine people in 2017 thinking "that part of the world" is Oceanic.

I've seen TV news reports from USA that printed in the bottom ticker tape reel that India is part of South East Asia.

Words like Orient and Oriental are still being used to describe Asia and fair Asian-looking people.

And don't get me started on those "xxx are so stupid" videos where random people are asked where a country is and they point at ridiculous parts of the atlas.

Geography just isn't a strong suit for alot of people, game devs included.

So excited for the Sydney server. Can't imagine playing MWO with a ping <200

...a ping from ~65ms previously to ~330ms currently, so unplayable. I rather play on North American and European servers now.

Something weird is going on as the server select preview gives me a ping of 38!!! to Oceania (I am in NZ) - but when I actually get in game it is back up to 220ish.

That is still less than it was a month ago when typically I would see 270ish.

I normally play on NA server (at a reliable 210).

In any case the whole Oceania server situation seems a bit messed up.

Ping is often different for the different oceanic servers thanks to messed up routing. If your getting 38 though, that means at least one Sydney server is/was online I'm guessing.
