The whole point of CW is that it's about more than just you and your favorite mech. It's about your team and your faction, it's about you helping the team win not you getting the best score. The fun is in being part of a group that wins by coordination and tactics not you putting up great damage with LRMs or whatever.

This is the biggest fundamental issue people have with CW. It's not about YOU (and by that I mean every individual player) it's about YOUR TEAM.

I would agree with that. I just wish there was a way for solo players like me to find some satisfaction in the game mode too. If you and 11 of your closest friends can all get online at the same time and play without any interruption on team speak, I am sure it's a hell of a fun time for your faction. If you're just a guy with zero friends online and a bag of potato chips for company (sadly me). There really isn't a draw. There has to be some way to make it fun and competitive without being exclusively a team only sport.

Get on your faction TS. There are some exceptional people playing with/for kurita right now. I've never seen a good player of theirs who wasn't perfectly happy to help a pug. It's not about joining a group; it's about being willing to be part of a team even if it's just for a couple hours or even 15 minutes. You don't have to pick out China patterns together. Just a coordinated plan to kill Clammers for a bit.

Woah, just got an inside 'scoop' (ha ha ha) of the source code for phase 3. Anyone else seen this yet?

I was thinking copy/pasted HTML scripts. It's hard to find someone who's still a competent coder in basic.

all basic really does is use its few limited control strucures to generate machine code, these blocks are concatenated to form a program. variables are resolved to memory addresses. its really not rocket science. i wrote a virtual machine and assembler for it, started writing a basic interpreter but never finished it (mwo probibly had something to do with that).

i have a hunch that most of mwo is written in lua with a little c++ thrown in to make up for lua's limitations. these are also the 2 programming languages i know the best. pgi please hire me i can be the mostest mediocre programmer ever.

what do you mean im overqualified, my code looks like it was written my a schizophrenic!

I've come back after a short break and nothing has changed here. As ever CW should be the game. Every battle you participate in should count towards something for CW. That's the easy part, wrapping a story and reward system around the game is the hard part that PGI as much as they are achieving are struggling to do.

Hey SolarCleric. On Teamspeak 3, join the HK server: housekurita.tserverhq.com. Anyone is always welcome.

It is not as busy as it once was, but if you see a few people there in one of the CW channels, feel free to pop in channel and say you want to play CW. If you are feeling quiet or antisocial or don't have a mic, you don't even have to talk, if you can just hear whats going on its a lot easier to stay on the same page.
