I'd appreciate it if they'd just release it for C-bills and MechWarrior Credits. It's been almost seven months since it was released in the gift shop.

yeah, not sure what's up with that. I jokingly say "keep it exclusive" (ok, half jokingly), but it's a little bewildering, truth be told.

Urbanmechs don't take damage properly due to messed up hitboxes...

hoping that's supposed to be a funny.

Because they certainly do. Have neither the wonky animation nor speed to get any particular hitreg protection.

Out of all the Light mech's i've played, no other takes damage as easily as the Urbanmech.
Especially since its running animations keep its torso basically on level, while most other mechs bob up and down a LOT.
Which is the only problem (apart from Dynamic geometry) i have with the Urbanmech. Its animations are just too floaty and it could really use some sort of animation pass (i'd love for it to use slightly modified Panther animations, because Panther has SUPERB movement animations, one of the best humanoid animations in the game.)

totally agreed. Hardest part I think is getting any animation to not look floaty on them at 30 kph. But it certainly gets no lagshield or borked hitbox protection that I have seen or experienced. More to the point, I think most people just don't really know what the hitbox layout is, and the shape of the torso, combined with any degree of twist, slips hitboxes back and forth with ease.

Although I've had better rounds this is still my favorite because I was trudging around at 35kph. :)

I think most people stop using those builds because they try to play the Urbie like a light mech or even a medium mech, so they consistently put themselves in bad situations and get eaten by Firestarters. I don't see anyone would want to get the Urbie and then just play it like any 30 ton light mech. If I were to buy it, it would be to try something different.

Running mine with an LB10X.
It's not good.
I'd be much better off using the "meta" build of slapping lasers all over it, but anyone who doesn't run ballistics (or nothing but MGs) are disgusting people and i hate them.

Haha, I appreciate the blatant, unapologetic condemnation. I feel the same way about those people.

Amen to the Hate list.
Don't get me wrong, my LPL and PPC builds don't play like other Lights. 100 kph max says that will never happen. And Large Lasers and PPCs were what I ran on a lot of TT Urbies. That said, while I really don't do the ac20 Urbie well, I do have more fun on decent matches with my UAC5/LBX/AC10 Urbies.

I like to ghost the main body of the team, then find some nice hidey spots, especially elevated ones. From there it's all about finding them ripe targets, exposed backs, etc.

One of my favorite Urbie matches came with my team getting rolled 12-3 on Mining Collective.. The 3 came after my team had got themselves dead. The Enemy had got nice and spread..... I was able to hunt down 2 Assaults and a Light and kill them before they were able to corner and focus me. The fun part was the DWF who could never figure out what was happening (he was cussing a storm in chat) as I kept sneaking behind him and poptarting him from above ....finally carved out his spleen. Took a while with an ac10 and medium laser, but soooo worth it. Stalker was already hurt, legged him, then ct cored him from behind. Spider made the mistake of stopping so he could type in chat.... and that was all she wrote.

Yeah, still lost the match, but I had fun. ;)

well if i played urbi i would personally try something like ac/5 and some (~3) med lasers, ac/10 is honestly way too much for it

People who play Streakboats

People who put AC20s or gauss rifles on any light mech that isn't the Urbanmech

urbi wasn't the only light supposed to be able to take a large gun in the lore, kit fox has a lore version with gauss too

Oh, there are definitely light mechs with heavy guns in tabletop and lore. But in artwork, you can tell that the mech is carrying a big weapon. It's not like the RVN-4X where the MG barrels on a tiny box are replaced by some stubby AC20 or gauss barrels, and then suddenly this is supposed to reflect the difference between a 0.5 ton and 15 ton weapon.

The custom geometry is bad, it's just a bunch of barrel swaps. The gauss rifle on a Warhawk looks like a 15 ton weapon. The PPC on the Black Knight or CPLT-K2 look like proper PPCs.

I get that it's not important to everyone, but the visual aspect of games is really important to me.

that would be two $20 dollar installments, now wouldn't it? Usually, those who take the first taste realize their mistake and make the second installment shortly after discovering Urbielightenment.
