Okay, NOW it is clear. It is a "people should learn to be team players" rant. Not a "Only 12-man pre-mades should be playing this mode" rant. And when you say "solo", you mean "CoDkidRamboWarlord". Because "solo" just means someone who is not in a pre-made group.

Also THIS kinda threw me off.

"CW should only be for 12-man pre-mades!"

I lied. I can't ignore this stupidity.

YOUR OWN TITLE SAYS THE WORDS SOLO AND DROP! Obviously its a possibility according to you.

So if it isn't possible for someone to drop SOLO, WHY DO YOU HAVE A THREAD COMPLAINING ABOUT IT?

Before I respond to anything you have to say (and I will be happy to have further public discorse with you) I want you to honestly answer the following question...

Are you unwilling or unable to understand this thread and its meaning?

...If you are unwilling, I can't help you, thanks for your posts as they have helped me make my point more clear. We're done.
...If you have been unable to, I encourage you to reread the thread in general and my post specifically then take a day to think about what I am trying to say. I will be happy to continue this public discourse with you.

I think it is a fair question for me to ask either / both of you.

This is dumb and elitist.

CW has rewards that entice newcomes like free Mechlabs. Of course they would want to participate, and flit between factions too. For that matters, there are events that involve CW.

Take away those rewards AND the events and maybe you might find less casuals being interested in the CW which would suit your little group elitist mindset just fine.

Yes, we know already that you are the guy who read the title, MAYBE the OP, then stopped. The headline of the thread was used to grab attention to the thread....it worked.

Enjoy masturbating in the CW metagame jumpsnipe circlejerk.

Seems awful lonely with only 75 players playing.

I'm aware. I want him to use the proper terminology.

However, if you've read the full thread he's also spouted a ton of ideas I don't agree with either.

Also... to the bolded I am in fact a dude. Lorian was a name I picked out of a science fiction novel as a kid (can't remember if it was a Star Wars, BT or Asimov novel or even a BT Faction readout that had all the names) and then I added Sunrider to it (definitely from Star Wars on that one). I used it for my pilot names in the MW games and decided to use it for MWO.

I've already tackled your other issues I disagree with in past posts if you bothered to read them,

I'm saying if you want less people confused by your own arguments then for gods sake use the widely accept vernacular.

And as I've said in past posts I disagree with at least half of what you have said in this thread.

Play like a team player? **** yeah, of course that is better.

Encourage such things from PGI's end? Hell yes.

Force them to join units to play CW? No.

Force them into 12 man premades to have to play CW? No.

The last two will dwindle an already insignificant portion of the player base that is playing CW.

My sincere apologies but I'm losing patience because you refuse to accept that the words Solo Drop don't commonly mean what you are defining them as, confusing more than half the people in the thread.

Use lone wolf, non-team player, etc. It will go a long, long way.

Solo drop means someone who hits the matchmaking play button by themselves without already being in a party.

Oh look, someone else who thinks you are coming across as elitist. Couldn't be both some of your ideas and you coming across as a jerk because you are incorrectly labeling players.

1) I don't blame you....I SUCK at writing and much better with verbal communication (and I suck at that most of the time too). I will try to clarify for you (sum up for those just joining the thread).

2) boy / girl, don't know, don't care....Lorian likes big stompy robots so even if we disagree I still have MUCH <3!!!

3) Yes! well, that and...

PGI should have made what this game is clear from the start, and NOW should immediately start thinking of a system that would allow both new and existing players a clear 'path of progression' from

[ You all alone with only trial mechs to use ]

to

[ You have a complete drop deck for both IS and Clan and you can easily find other players* ]

* <<<that one of those players is willing to 'organizing' and 'leading' a drop... that the 10 other players are willing to be 'lead' (will move to the specified location, peak, poke, or push as directed, find and fire on the focus target, etc)....that YOU are willing to be lead OR you are able (people are willing to follow you) and willing to lead 11 other people. >>>
____________________________________________
PGI NEEDS to make this "Path of Progression", the "Path of Progression" NEEDS to be easy, the "Path of Progression" SHOULD BE....an experience ALL players can enjoy.

I want to stress that my point is not that I hate 'solo players', or that I want ANY player to be left behind or worse yet... left out. I am invested in this game DEEP (4K+ DEEP) and it hasn't been because this is the greatest game ever. I am invested DEEP into this game because I love playing big stompy robots with people who like to play big stompy robots....my love of playing with and against each and EVERY one of you is why I am in SO DAMN DEEP(ly) invested in this game. If that makes me an 'elitist' then I am the most elite, elitist, ever.

It is NOT your fault (any of you) that PGI didn't tell you the truth (There is no solo drops, never has been, never will be)...It is NOT your fault (any of you) that PGI has not made the progression from game installation to Community Warfare an easy experience for you. I am not mad at you (any of you) you are not to blame.

...so there is that too, and it is worth mentioning IMHO.

I hope that makes things clearer for you.

You can't just take words that are in common use and redefine them in a new way, and expect other people to go along with it. Everyone already knows what solo players are and what a solo drop is. I do solo drops all the time. I say I drop solo all the time. When I tell my team mates about idiot PUGs I encountered while I dropping solo, they know what I'm talking about, and they know it's not about me being a bad team player. If you want to communicate with rest of the community and be understood, use the words in the way everyone else is already using them.

The one thing you are clearly, damn near PAINFULLY so, right about....the thing we can both agree on."You do solo drops all the time"...it is when "you talk to your teammates during your 'solo' drops" is where you go all bat sh!at crazy sounding.

If this is the case, then Looking For Group is irrelevant. The whole point of Looking For Group is to bring solo players or those of units with low numbers together.

I can't agree with this declaration at all. Let the solo players in...because it's a recruiting opportunity for the major units to increase their numbers.

Armando, you are arguing with math, not anyone in this thread. 93% of players want to drop solo. That's a hard number, that you're ranting won't change. So you're suggesting that 93% of the playerbase be forced to play this game in a manner they don't wish to do.

They will not only stop dropping solo CW, they'll stop dropping, period--because apparently they really want to drop solo CW.

It's not that I disagree with you....you are not wrong.

I know that a vast majority of the player base WANTS to 'solo' the game, but that is not what PGI created. There is no 'solo' anything, only players who THINK they are playing solo when the reality of the situation...the cold hard truth is....they are playing with 11 other real life teammates and 12 real life enemies.

Their response is....LA LA LA - I'm going to bury my head in the sand and pretend that I play this game 'solo' - LA - LA - LA -

Pretending you are ever 'alone' playing MWO is just that....pretending. I KNOW we WANT to be able to play the game solo (damn it would be nice to have a 'private vandul swarm' mode where I have 3 A.I teammates and wave after wave of A.I. enemies to fight) but want we WANT and what PGI has given us is not the same.

I didn't make the game this way, I am just the one telling you to take the game for what it IS and that...

1) We as a community need to effectively play as a community
2) PGI needs to creates a actual 'solo' game mode.
3) The wheels just fall off.

If 1), 2), or BOTH don't happen....3) will.

I hope we can all agree that no one in here wants 3) <if you disagree, explain>. Providing you DON'T want the wheels to fall off this game do you honestly think that PGI can pull off 2)???? Not saying they can't but DAMN....I'm not gonna hold my breath...especially since they have never said one word about such a game mode.

That leaves us back at the start with 1) We as a community effectively play as a community. IMHO for people who love big stompy robots this is our best bet, not saying it's not a 'long shot', but I don't discount how much or how many people love big stompy robots either.

That's not true: they aren't dropping at all.
CW is dead.
Maybe changing something would bring fresh air: c-bill boost dropping CW, double c-bill boost when dropping at least in a lance.

None is playing at the moment.

CW has its problems. Biggest problem is the attitude of its "elite" players.

Fixed.

I have reached out to so many people, most of them are always stubborn and because it worked ONCE against an equal noobish team then it becomes a dogma. Players will continue using the trial Victor or the trial Hellbringer in their dropdecks, players will run for Omega in counter attacks under all circumstances, players will use LRMs boats and it's the others fault who don't bring locks that they can't deliver, players will use a 100 ton mech in their last wave when we are running out of time, players will use strikes on generators, players will shoot on turrets in coocoon mode, players will peek all alone versus 12 sniping enemies, players will ignore the rally point and "help" those last wrecked green blimps in the base and die within 10 secounds, players will jump in front of me because I'm in their way and then complain when they can't move backwards into cover, players will not take any advice until they argued with you for 20 minutes. Why would I?

Well, it seems like the majority who are still playing at the moment ARE solos. I'm playing CW pretty much every evening EU prime. 8 of 10 games i get are solos vs solos with 1 or 2 smaller premades (up to 4 players) sprinkled in. CW is on its last legs, but currently the solo players are keeping it alive.

We need more player in CW. Too much dropping in solo que (maybe because of the solo mentality)

During EU prime time there are a few more players, because there are some NA players too.
But in the EU afternoon, when I mainly play, CW is deserted.
Right now there are 50 player in a single planet.
Wow.
I mean.... being a community planetary warfare, in which all the community should be involved, I was expecting at least hundreds of players in the same time, all the day.

CW issues are known from months.
I don't understand why PGi wait so long to do something about what should be the core of thier own game.

edit: cannot understand why players prefer to drop/grind/drop/grind/drop/grind experience in solo que.
Imo, it's the ultimate boring experience of boredom

That entirely depens on which planet is contested. On most days, only 1 planet is contested in EU prime anyway, but with a decent amount of players (get into games under 10min waiting time), which i get to attack. "If" there is a planet to defend i'll drop there because i like to defend aswell, but that seldomly happens. But even when defending, i mostly play against pugs.

It seems like most people don't care if they attack or defend, which planet they attack, against which faction they have to play. They just want to play at all. With the small amount of people still playing, you have to take what you can get. As soon as a planet is contested in either way, people start queuing there, because it's their best chance to get a match in under 20 minutes.

Agreed, CW is pretty much dead outside of prime time. Last week i tried to start an attack during the EU midday hours. The game launched after i sat in queue for about 3 hours.

Nope, but for two of us it was seal clubbing. Let such Premades only face other Premades, because all Solos leave CW, they never ever will win a Match.

CW, right now, is wait drop grind wait drop grind wait drop grind. Thats why most of the Units i have Friends in dont play CW much.

To be fair, that unit is the poster child for a 'casual unit'. While I don't know first hand, I am pretty sure they are working hard every day to get better, and by all accounts decent peoples.

They have taken the first step to being successful in community warfare by dropping as a community of players (all be it very 'casual' players) and for that I have much love <3 and respect o7 for them. They pick up one or two good DCs and they can hammer out a viable drop deck you will see them take 'the next step' and their performance improve.

That said, the two of you put em in a pain box and nailed the lid shut, well played!

It was the only Screenshot i have found against a 12men.
We sometimes group up with mixed Players without Comms and aligned Dropdecks. We play in Groupe as PUG, if you want, and roflstomp the Enemy most of the Time.
I for my self only play CW to level my Clanmechs and get easy earned C-Bills.

We beed more Players in CW and less Factions, so we can implement an MM.
