Bug Or Cheating?

In the last few weeks I have seen quite a few games where something is very off. Targeting that is perfect no matter how a mech moves or turns, shots that kill in one hit on just about every mech that person targets, games where mechs do not take hardly any damage while easily taking out opponents.
The most prevalent seems to be the targeting and high damage every hit... I watched one game where every single member of a team was destroyed without a single death by the other team... and I have seen that happen more than once. Usually in Faction combat. There is no way probably that one team can lose every single mech almost instantly when hit and the other team walk away with barely a scratch.
Now some of us are not the top end hit everything we shoot at perfect every time players. But we are also not slouches especially when we have a good team leader and we work as a unit... and yet it matters not in these games because it does not matter if we run and twist and whatever, the hits always nail the same spot and within one of two of them we are dead.
So like I said, either there is a HUGE bug that is popping up pretty much making some players invincible or again we have people cheating the system...
How often are the devs checking for this?

I doubt there is anything wrong though.

Good idea... I have been watching for a bit and do not post this lightly.. but I am seeing a repeat of this occur and made sure it was not just a fluke before bringing it up... Thus I will take the suggestion and start recording...

Yeah, i have my doubts because I am not observing the same thing, but nevertheless if you feel strongly about it PGI will look at any footage you send

They're scumbags. Low life scum and frankly they disgust me.

There is working hack that is readily available. PGI claims they are detecting it however so far we only have proof of those 64 accounts being banned.
Honestly due to the relative slow moving targets in this game I don't think the aimbot is that big of a deal. However the wall hacks could be much worse and offer a huge advantage where positioning is so important. Look for people knowing exactly were you are especially early on in matches (less spectators). A good hacker knows how to hide it especially when there are many spectators.

Last I heard about game hacks was that PGI has a list of currently hacking players and those said players are being used a guinea pigs for something.
Is it true? Who knows.

Took them years to ban hundred players... I would say not very often.

There are aimbots but i dont think they work all that great. Half the time when i shoot a mech dead center in the ct it doesnt register there anyway haha.

We have done thie before. Its Team focus and Russ's power creep.
As now now they're are basically two cheats aimbot and wall/radar hacks. We can be thankful for the server side code or it would be much worse. A lot of the crazy deaths and high power hits are due to the stupid crit hit system. This system has zero feedback to the user. You can thank the clan mechs with 10+ laser spam with targeting computers.

(could population be preventing another ban-fest?)

I have noticed though that some teams always know where we are no matter what we do.

Its a small percentage of players but it only takes one player out of 24 in every 5 matches to really ruin things. In game at the moment it can be less than that and worse than that, luck depending.
The so called wall hack being used I consider an aim bot by the way.
To cheats, your only fooling noobs because its plain as day to someone who has played a few matches and seen literally hundreds banned in other games for using these cheats. Like clearly obvious. Read that again if you doubt it.

yea you doubt like others, so there must not be hackers right? They DO exist in mwo, and dispite it being server based I bet the amount of hackers per player is still as high as other games

Some of the wall hack accusations can be quite unfounded though. I used to wonder myself how some players seem to have this uncanny foresight for where I might show up, until I spectacted one particular Dire Wolf.
He was facing off against Cheetah amidst a bunch of buildings in Crimson Straits. He noted his radar being jammed and he immediately popped a UAV - something that I'll bet the Cheetah didn't notice due to it being directly overhead and out of his LOS.
That, combined with Seismic meant the Dire Wolf always knew where the Cheetah was at all times. The next time he rounded a corner, he got smacked with an alpha of 2 Gauss, 2 ERLL, and 6 ERML. Died immediately. So much for the godlike Cheetah hitboxes.
As I was watching, I knew he wasn't cheating but I think the Cheetah might possibly have grounds to feel differently. He didn't complain about it though.
Some light players seem to think that just because they have ECM and are running around between buildings, than they are invisible or something and can never be detected and any who get the jump on them must be cheating. Totally not the case.
