Considering the state of some the places in the world and what people do to each other even in the so called civilized parts of the world we might have been better off staying in the trees, but that is another discussion.
I have no illusions over where I personally sit in the skill level tree (middle to low) so I personally don't care what people think or say about me.
Anonymity on the internet seems to bring out the worst in people, I accept that as a given, but giving people ammo to have a go at people is generally not a good idea, whether it be real life, the internet or in a game world. This is why they never released the Elo rankings in the first place.
