Full disclosure. Also refering to WoT, where player statistics are available to those who install a mod for it. Their reasons may vary, but it´s crystal clear that sometimes good players draw focused fire because of it.

MWO should just show stats for all players from the beginning, to flatten out odds across the board.

Considering what I have been seeing in the forums about the topic lately, I think PGI should just cancel the poll and revert back to private statistics.

For those still bringing up the WoT stat-pulling mod, there's only 2 ways it could work in MWO:

1. You manually type in and look up each player's name.
2. A program pulls that information for you.

The former would be very time consuming, and I doubt anybody would be able to input all the players in the match within the short countdown of the pregame lobby.

The latter would have to be a program that directly intercepts match data for the game you're in, and I doubt PGI would be very keen on players accessing that information, and would very likely fall under a violation of their CoC regarding using 3rd party hacks/plugins.

PGI made the smart decision a long time ago to ignore the majority of stuff on the forums. Why should this be any different?

Almost 4000 players have voted already, yet there's only ~ 500 replies to this topic, and at worst the replies have been 50/50 in favor/against. You really trying to say that PGI should listen to the vocal minority and ignore the poll results simply because those who are against it can scream louder on the forums?

You may not agree with it, but the vast majority of players want to see their Tier, with the option of showing it publicly.

I would prefer hiding it completely, but give feedback after matches on how it affected PSR. Something along the lines: Greatly Improving, Improving, neutral, needs improvemnt. Or maybe color coded match score: Green, Red, Grey.

Without that option I vote OPT-IN.

Opt-in is basically the same as Must Show, since anyone hiding it will be accused of being T5, and their opinions discounted just as if they actually were T5 by those who were not.

I prefer hiding it for all, just letting each person privately know where they stand.

Actualy I'd rather have the opt in but hide mine. Sure they can accuse me of being T5 and thats ok.

So here is a question on PSR I have not seen answered anywhere:

With ELO, we supposedly had an ELO for each weight class. Do we have this with PSR too? Or is it just a generic, across weight class, score?

Anyone know?

I have a question. If Tier 1 groups with a Tier 5 will they ever get a match?

Tier Schmeir....Tier 1's can have bad games.. Tier 5's can have a great game...How did the grp run? real question... was it a 12-0 stomp... a 12-6 some of us got it....12-10... a real game.
I mean....
I don't mind pulling a 160 score and having 12 spots...I'm lurking and narcing...or rolln gunz pulling out a 1300 score kickn ass an takn names... is my tier going to tell you what I'm running and how badly I want to lay waste to the universe on that day....no.

Why? I thought it was recognized that a light plays different from a Med, Heavy or Assualt and vice versa? Wasn't that the whole point of Weight class ELO? That you might be the best Assault or light pilot in the world but horrible in a Medium? And it was trying to take that into account?

I don't know. It doesn't make sense to me either.

People that suggest that high ranking people will become targets on the battlefield wont be playing with high ranking people in the first place... High ranking people will play with each others and im pretty sure they are already busy trying to kill each others in a timely fashion. You guys are just silly, like you have the time to take names before components...

People that say they will have to play certain mech/weight because of the ranking system need to re-evaluate why they are playing in the first place.

People who are afraid of not being able to post on the forum because they have low rank... we were told competition people dont even post on the forum and as far as i know they arent the one that act like ******** in game so i don't imagine them being ones on the forum should they so chose to grace us with their presence... on the forum it's all us average joes.

Those of you who are afraid you wont be able to take dumps on others post/thread because your ranking wont be as good as you want it to be... i can't wait to see you silenced.

That's the exact reason 'when' opt in wins I'm going to leave my tier hidden. It's an advantage to me if people think I'm a tier 5. I want people to underestimate me.

I say that they should just make all tier one players have a big floppy rainbow colored e-peen swinging around under their mechs.

Opt in......for obvious reasons.

  • Will Tiers be displayed in the game lobby, so we can see the balance between teams?
  • if the matchmaker fails to successfully balance those teams, is there a penalty for dropping? Will there be tiers for every weight class or every chassis, or every variant?
  • I know that I am much better at Mediums than Assaults, the differences is even greater when comparing my performance between Wolverines and Atlases, there is even considerable differnce between my WVR-6K and WVR-7R capabilities. How will these variances be incorporated into my PSR.
  • Will PSRs be viewable on the forums, or only in-game, and if so will they only be viewable in the players profile, or on their forum badge. And if they are displayed on their forum badge, which PSR will be displayed, the highest, or the average?

I completely agree with this on one level, but I also worry that number of folks who will drop if they/see feel that they are at a disadvantage. This could be magnified if PGI ever adds other MM balance factors like mech battle rating or basic/master level, direct fire/ecm/lrm/short range/etc. This could be done as adjusted ELO with player ELO (all weight classes), but folks look for excuses and honestly even greedy epeen chasers are better than starting 1 mech down.

I just see the chance of a single DC seems to be 25-40% and if you get the same percentage for a Q dodge there will be more games where the other team did not have the odds equal out. With the longer wait times the steam rolls and slaughters may not be as balanced as they have been.

In War Thunder after the match you can click on player names to see their stats and accomplishments and I like this. It would be nice if you could also send a message, friend invite or maybe a canned message (non-friends) by clicking on the players name after the match.

I would like for us to get into game and have someone "testing" their weapons into a mechs back, before the insults start.

Opt-in. Its should be optional. Forcing it to display your skill is just another wounding blow to the privacy of persons.
