Also the head looks significantly less weird than it did in this one:

Something about the cockpit glass make it looks overly smooth and awkward. The Blood Pact preview looks like what it should be in game though, which is dead sexy.

Looks sweet... but none of the BK variants have ballistics which is really sad, because the UAC looks awesome on it

I'm sorry If I seem like a sass-master but its 3 am. The argument of low mounted hardpoints on a mech that's had them since the 1980's baffles me. Not every robot that PGI gives us is going to be as amazing as the Timber A pods guys.

Yep, I know and you have a point.
But IS desperatly need a good heavy kicking asses. And moving those hardpoints up, like the Battlemaster ones, it would be a far better heavy.
IS needs a tier 1 heavy.
It's not going to be the Black knight, sadly.

If some people want to buy them and play them despite the low mounted hardpoints, then by all means let them. I hope they're always on the Red Team.

Which is why I never wanted the Black Knight in the first place. If only people were smart enough ask the Flashman from PGI, instead of cashing in on looks, or nostalgia, then the IS could have had a great energy Heavy, to at least stand a chance.

That's fine and dandy, but Russ already stated he isn't going to let the competitiveness of mechs determine what they make/sell. Whether or not that's healthy for the game is an entirely different discussion. At this point I just find it funny when people complain about it.
Despite even that, the Black Knight is an energy only mech. The reason the Timber is Tier 1 is due to its versatility with damn near whatever it whats on it. I knew the Black Knight wouldn't be Tier 1 from the moment they released info about it. I honestly don't give a damn.
EDIT:

I honestly would have voted for that thing. A lot of the fan art I've seen makes it looks like something I'd rather not run into in a back alley.

Seems to me like it would be easier to nerf the god tier heavies instead. ;p
Or nerf high mounted weapons. Could make the excuse that the lower mounted weapons are closer to the reactor, providing power more quickly and efficiently.
Also IS should get their Light engines already. So we can close the gap between the the IS and Clans. So we don't have to rely so heavily on nerfs or quirks. But that's just my opinion and I've gone way off topic. >_>
The Black Knight looks good visually. But I already have an energy boat heavy.

That actually looks REALLY good.
I retract my previous statement that the Black Knight looks awful.
Not sure why it has a ballistic weapon in the arm.

Just curious to see the quirks. It would need not only energy quirks, but also armor/int. ones, similar to Zeus.
Because if you want to shoot, you must expose the mech totally.
But again I prefer high hardpoint location, because behind a hill, you have "infinite armor" for free.

Hnnnggghhhh....
These mechs look so damned fine when their arms are in a relaxed position, as opposed to bent at 90 degrees at the elbow.

Mhm, i wish you'd see them like this more often. Like for example while they're in the mechbay.

Yeah, I've been saying that for years. It would be nice if I could power up and power down my mechs in the mechbay, or see them in a relaxed position. And in-game, I just wish the arms had more freedom in general. It would be nice if you could lower your arms to a relaxed position to improve hillclimb speed and turn rate, for example. And raise arms in front of you to shoot over hills, at the expense of torso twist rate (yaw and pitch).
Just fantasies
