What Grinds My Gears - Rant

Why should anyone have to go to Tweeter to know anything about this game that's not presented on the forums?
Either I'm miss-understanding the whole thing and the actual official MW:O's forums aren't official, or someone has their priorities set a bit off.
Another cool sentence I saw, related to why it's on Tweeter and not the Forums was:
"If players on the forum were more Positive we may get better responses"
That's tough. When I do some work and I present a poorly batched together sample of it, I also would like to not talk to those who criticize me and offer negative feedback.
I'd love to just close my eyes, cover my ears and hope for it to go away...
Funny story:
I actually tried something like that, I was around 5 years old... and found out that it didn't quite work. Learned my lesson and started to listen to critics and build better solutions using that extra information.
So, in short: The community has some users with negative feedback and that's the reason why Tweeter is now the official channel for information?
Why stick around in the forums, then?
Let's just get into Tweeter and smile, favorite and share rainbows and unicorns!
I'd just like to finish this post in a Tweetery positive note by saying "Good job, PGI!" *favorite*
Rant off.
Sorry about this, guys. It's just stupid to have to look into another information channel outside the supposedly official one, to get details or info.

On the flip side whenever I see a PGI post in an open forum, I see a bunch of people jump into the ring with a "I know better than you, you guys suck, listen to me!" posts. Nothing positive ever comes from that on either side of the ring. I know other companies have "community managers" whose only job is to monitor and post on forums, not really sure how much of a benefit this kind of role adds to a company.

I understand that, but that's no reason to chose another information channel. Just handle all the feedback from the community and use the feedback to their advantage (improvement, more tests / analysis, etc.).
Heck, double check it with some key players, but keep the information in one place!

The official forums are for official announcements. What we put up there is what is happening/going to happen.
Twitter is where we can throw out some feelers, make noncommittal statements, share thoughts that may or may not make it into the game.
That way, when someone sees a dev announcement post on the forums, they know it's info is solid. There's no off the cuff spitballing. When they see something on Twitter, they know that it isn't official and may never even touch the game.
Now, considering the Instagram/Twitter posts I have seen referenced, I think PGI should have put most of that stuff on the forums. But that's partly because I don't want to use Instagram or Twitter (or Pinterest or Farmville).

I also know that Russ, Paul and at least a few other Devs at least peruse the Forums, daily. Problem is too many people think their rants are somehow reply worthy, when 9 out of 10 times, they really aren't.

the Official stuff IS posted here. But just as Marvel, CW, Warner Brothers, Disney, etc, do, they "leak" through other channels to create buzz, get sidewways feedback and to treat the die hard followers who hunt down any rumors. Revealing texture maps on INstagram, ain't exactly official, and when it's ready to be, it will be released here.

kind of silly, TBH.
It's a tool, like any other, to be used as sparingly or heavy as you the individual wants. It and Instagram are definitely much more mobile friendly than these Forums, even from a top end smartphone, for posting, viewing, data use, etc.

so because a few do it, everyone should feel obligated to? I wouldn't complain, but don't see it as necessary.

Well, it's on the same level as I hate facebook. It's good for finding old friends, but for the LOVE of GOD I do not care what you had for breakfast and NO I do not want to play candycrush....

Thank you for making me understand the difference, too often I've thought about this in the past and somehow I found that what's on Tweeter should also be on this forum, but then again, some things are just decoys and some aren't.
Move along people, nothing to see here anymore

This. This Forum is just full of stupid people who only rant before thinking for a split second and have no clue how games are being made, but think othrewise.

that's downright silly, as that assumes that his decisions are made solely on the feedback of a few tweets. Twitter can help cut through the clutter, to point him toward a legit issue, which they then investigate through multiple means.
On the other hand, I have used twitter to get his attention on things like server breakdowns and stuff over the weekend (aka his days off) more quickly than he might otherwise be aware of it, which in turn allows him to address it faster.
Sounds to me like somebody really just is upset at the perception that Russ simply listens to a few pet players over twitter and ignores everything else. As someone who does have pretty regular communication with Russ, I can tell you, that just ain't so.

I don't think they do. Every post I seen from Russ was because someone went to tweeter and asked him to comment. Last one I say Russ post he said something along the lines of " this is why I don't post here" because some guy was negative.
