He! He! He!

There is a post somewhere here on the forums asking me to stay in my Founder's Jenner ... as that would save him from me. LOL.

Which variant is the founders Jenner? I can't remember.

Back when i joined AS, Hulkins introduced me to the Jenner. There was the 6 medlaser one and another that we ran with 4 small lasers + 2 srm4s or 6s. They used eat assault mechs for breakfast. Find a fresh Atlas and solo kill it no problem. The salty tears and rage in chat happened a lot.

I think its just trading one crutch for another. Funny how, after the last HSR pass, I stopped seeing Firestarters in my matches... even though their firepower was untouched.

I still see firestarters, i've actually been seeing a mix of lights. A lot of panthers as well due to the event.

You do realize the ACH (July 21st) came out around the same time as the HSR (July 7) pass, right?

It's the JR7-D. And yes, it's nasty because it's very much underestimated. :D

Most people seem to be unable to understand that the players that truly do well in the ACH also do well in just about every other light mech.

All it needs is the structure quirks removing and a rethinking of the energy quirks. Less heatgen on the omnipods with more energy hardpoints is ridiculous and completely backwards when compared to all the other T1 clan mechs.

Here's my stats in my ACH so far: ARCTIC CHEETAH ACH-PRIME(I) 2 0 2 0.00 0 2 0.00 293 862 00:13:12
vs my Urbie: URBANMECH UM-R60L 11 5 5 1.00 10 7 1.43 1,761 10,091 01:20:42
Kit Fox: KIT FOX KFX-D 17 10 7 1.43 11 9 1.22 3,459 15,937 02:17:50
Ember: EMBER 16 10 6 1.67 13 10 1.30 3,970 16,405 01:38:36
That's just to give some context to show that while I'm not the best light pilot, I'm not entirely clueless in them either. I really don't care all that much if they nerf the ACH, but saying it's a crutch isn't quite true. At least not in my case.

Coming out of closed beta many complained about the Jenner being OP because it killed them.

Then, DHS had their nerf justified by the "3 Second Jenner" boogeyman.

Then when ECM came out the Jenner was originally going to have a variant with it till the QQ forced them to remove it.

Other mechs did eventually replace it but it was the original and this complaint is nothing new.

Tbh they need an LT with something that makes taking ECM or not a real decision.

I agree. But that's the only one. All the omnipods of the -C variant have positive energy quirks. Using the -C omnipods it's possible to have 17.5% heat gen reduction on Small Pulses while carrying 7 of them.

In contrast to a mere 2.5% for those of us who didn't get the early bird variant carrying only 5 small pulses.

It's absurd. Every other T1 clan mech gets negative quirks (see SCR and TBR) for boating energy weapons. Yet the Cheetah gets positive quirks.

Obviously it was a choice made by PGI for the early adopter variant but not one I agree with considering the quirks will no doubt be removed when everyone can buy the -C pods.

Dude, LCT is going to be on the chopping block. It is still THE light meta. 1E with 6 small pulse was the original light crutch, and remains inferior only to the new ACH overlord.

I'm going to be crying huge salty crocodile tears when they axe the 1E goodness. I'll be right there with you and that freaky boy/girl in the picture.

Whale is pre nerfed with atrocious handling, Hellbringer is only 60 tons and therefor not as much armor, CB has a CT that is as big or bigger than the Dragon's ever was...

The Cauldron Born i dunno about. It's one my favourite Clan mechs to hunt down, The CT is gigantic and can be hit from nearly any angle. Tis a bit of a glass cannon imo.

That's not a problem with the Whale, that's a problem with a 300 engine on a 100 ton mech. A STD300 Atlas would also have really bad handling. Furthermore, the mobility weakness can be mostly negated by teams positioning and staying together effectively, which is why organized "comp" teams use the Dire almost exclusively over any other assault in the game. The firepower advantage it has outweighs the crappy agility.

The Loki is actually 65 tons, and has reasonable durability (it lasts as long as most heavies or slightly longer than some IS heavies). It's not fragile anymore, not after the various hitbox passes were made. Since the hitbox fixes I would rate it as tied for the overall second best heavy in the game (Mad Cat is #1, Cauldron Born is tied for #2).

The Cauldron Born's hitbox issues get exaggerated sometimes...the mech is clearly not as durable as the Loki, Thor, or Mad Cat (it's a bit tougher than the Vulture though), but it's not as bad as the Dragon used to be. I rate its durability as about "average" or maybe slightly under average. It lasts as long as it needs to in order to get its job done, which is facilitated by having amazing firepower, high mounted guns, and plenty of hardpoints. What's hard to debate is that it's a good gundam, better than most IS heavies to be sure...

Because with it's tiny hitboxes (that may or may not be broken) It's ecm, mobility, and firepower it's overquirked with structure armor maybe?

Why not bring the other lights closer to the ACH instead?

I saw the light queue drop to around 15% again yesterday.

gg, PGI.

The Atlas comes stock with a STD300, but running a STD300 is suicide now days.
