Give them what they want and go to the Metal Gear Solid 5, Witcher 3, and Shadowrun queue.

Let them sit waiting hours for matches, shrug.

Preferring the Dark Souls and Dark Souls 2 queues myself these days :P Got my DS3 controller hooked up to my PC.. these games look pretty awesome @ 1080P on my big TV :D Much better than the PS3 versions did (though they still looked decent)

You assume wrong from the beginning of your post so I'll go off of this and not the rest. *and yes I have read all of it *

It's absolutely wrong to assume that hitting "R" is hard, it's the fact that you know your team is already down a member.
Yeah you can argue you can get some good games in LRM boats here and there but in group queues, it's a different monster.
When you face off against competent units where ECM is all over the board as well as radar derp modules, that LRM boat on your team is dead weight at worst or a meat shield at best.
It also comes down that the LRM boat is using a sub-optimal weapon system compared to ballistics or energy weapons.

Again, LRM can work from time to time but they are an inconsistent, sub-optimal weapon system in a meta where pin-point accurate damage reigns on top. *for now*

PS: It's also quite frequent that I don't lock on to targets in the middle of a fight. I'll often be using info my team is telling me or just go from general knowledge of the mech and knowing where the weak spots are.

This isn't the only short fall too. Essentially "Hold lox plz" = Please face tank. You really aren't going to get many locks until after the brawl starts. Normally you have a trading phase where locks aren't held for every long at all. Unless you are getting the lock from yourself or a UAV chances are you'll be limited until that brawl starts. Even in that case sometimes games are already decided before the brawl even starts.

EDIT: even in the brawl, if you are torso twisting, and the enemy has radar derp..... well you'll lose that lock.

i've always said, 12 mans should only fight 12 mans, 6 mans should only fight 6 mans, and 4 mans should only fight 4 mans, and 2 man groups should be paired with other 2 man groups.

The only possible way that could happen is if we have more players.

Almost every single MM problem is due to having a low player base, and those problems drive more players to stop playing, compounding the issue.

I didnt realize the group queue was for 1337 units only. Yea, I guess we should apologize for ruining your group queue with our non-cheese mechs

So,
I'm sorry! Can you please forgive us for wanting to play with the big boys?

Telling others to go back to the solo Q just because of some petty incident is stupid and immature. I personally only really give **** to others in group Q if they are running worthless mechs like Spider 5Vs or LRM only Stalkers, things along those lines which generally have no place in the group Q. Seriously though, it's a 12 man. If they are even a tad bit organised, they will probably win

I'd probably extend this. No matter how well you do, if you lose you're getting jack. So you have quite a few folks out there grinding to elite these mechs and get cbills, hard to do when you're losing. Naturally things would move to the meta part of the game.

But then the solo players will complain that their queue doesn't offer better rewards, and that they don't want to play in the tryhard queue because they're "casual."

What you should do is just keep group dropping when you run into a group like that and yours fills their lack of a full team.

Keep dropping and take your group on a recon mission the opposite way that they go.
Keep on dropping in whatever mechs you want.
And keep on having your own fun just to spite their inability to enjoy themselves.

Playing with friends and unit mates is a heck of a lot more fun that solo matches, the more people in - the less often you run into desperate tryhard players and the more you'll run into groups in your skill range just looking to have a fun match.

then you can offer something different. solo could pay out more, group could include salvage parts. it's all a matter of making it appealing to groups and solo players, and that is easily done with payouts.

Most pilots aren't that good, and you are ASSUMING that the intel your team is passing you is good. I prefer to see with mine own eyes that the intel was good. Especially if I am using a longer burn time laser with a longer cool down.

And your Team is NOT down a member if you are able to actually hit r and get a lock. Which you could if you had bap/cap equipped.
I know I know. It's not in your build because you personally don't have a use for it.

And I do agree with you that LRMs are weak at best, and the ECM reduction to 90m isn't going to change that that much.
But for much of the 'underhive' they are a very comfy weapon, that if you are willing to help prop up, can contribute significantly to the betterment of the team. AND in the current system for match score for gaming the system, the scattered way they apply damage, does more it increase match score than any other weapon.

So look forward to more LRM noobs in the upper tiers real real soon. Let's hope some of them learn to beat the meta.

But they get more matches faster because they can speed drop and garner way more cbills. So 'balance'.

I can't because PGI hasn't. Whatever tier the every other match that does 600+ damage and gets 0-3 kills a game players end up in. (And yes that works out to at least high 3 and likely high 2, which means you can see them all the way up to tier 1, so rend those garments gnash those teeth, there will be much disappointment).

There's only one or two units that engage in this kind of behavior. The rest are imposing players, but decent. Don't let the rare bad apple drive you off.

I very seriously doubt you will see the LRM system automatically become viable because of the ecm decrease @ tier 1-2. Most pilots at that range are using cover to an excellent degree. You aren't going to see a lot of ECM at that level anyway outside of the Artic Cheetah.

Yes, I should balance my negative by saying there are tons of good folks playing

Some players, especially new, may not know they can mute people in game. Just bring up the scoreboard and click on the speaker icon all the way to the right. If more people utilize the feature, these loudmouth jerks will realize they'll just be put on mute and so won't bother to epeen.

You are assuming the intel I'm using is passed from the random pugs in my game.
The intel I use is from my unit and they would not be what I would describe as "sunday morning players". Most of them are pretty competent people.

LRMs in general are a sub-optimal weapon system that have many MANY counters to them as well as being an indirect fire weapon. They mostly work against people that walk in the open and fail to use any sort of cover.
Again, against competent people, running in the open isn't something very common.

Meta isn,t built from the bottom up. It starts at the top and trickles down into the lower brackets minus some exception.
remember what I said multiple time, "LRMs do not work against competent people". This means that when you're facing low tier players, they can and often do work because those players don't know how to work against them but in the higher tiers, LRMS are near worthless as their weakness is easily exploitable.

Also, using LRMs to raise your PSR doesn't help anyone.

Just think about it. Why do you never see any LRM in high level of play? There's a reason/multiple reasons why things are meta and some aren't.

Group Q has become a variation of a pick up basketball game where the best and worst players become the captains. The best player gets to choose the next four players and the other captain gets the rest.

This is not the good players fault it is the way MM works. I have noticed this in other games and it gets worse as the game gets closer to its lifespan.
