Like I said before psr is a numeric value for the matchmaker. For example using the Elo 0-2800 0-500 T5, 500-1000 T4, 1000-1500 T3, 1500-2000 T2, 2000-2800 T1. The MM uses these numbers for the match. If a T1 on blue team is 2756 and T1 on red team is 2078, that leaves alot of room to "balance" the numerical skill difference thus matching lower ranking players on blue team. So it's basically like elo was but with different metrics. This could lead to carry harder situations like in op.
