Assuming everyone else is being insincere or condescending when complimenting you is a pretty good indicator of chronic insecurity and other underlying self esteem issues.

Just saying.

Yes. From someone who was there. They said the split was because Lords was pushing hacks on the team to back up their "ggclose" taunting. Guess it would have looked silly if you couldn't win. But EmP wasn't going to hack to boost their self-esteem, so they left you.

But hey, don't get all offended and stuff. Its just someone being salty on the net. People are so sensitive these days...

Wtf lol. I don't even...

"Yes from someone who was there" I literally don't know who you are, have never seen you on Lords TS even back when i first joined, so yeah.

Also funny that no hacks were ever pushed on me in my time at Lords. What is actually funny though is that all i know about you is that you like to whine about getting rekt by light mechs on the forums and demand nerfs.

That never happened.

The reason EmP split from lords was over direction of the team. HoL at the time seemed to be more community warfare focused and recruitment/team mentality revolved around that. There were also arguments regarding leadership and what some viewed as policing. It had nothing to do about hacks or cheats.

Even if it didnt happened you must admit that would make an explosive story...

Adi elaborate on the 'policing' part pls

On conquest tonight

L33t troll: "Rekt ur team"

(oh yeah, because of me... yes me... we got all 5 cap points and won easily. BTW, when only 3 of you survive compared to our 2, that's not really rekt either. not to mention, I took your right arm when I ran out of caps.)

Me: Beat you anyway.

L33t troll: Enjoy

Me: I did.

Note to the saltshakers out there... don't crow about your awesome to the other team when you lose. Thinking that your career kill game trumps the W cannot be more wrong. You should have just been proud of your personal achievement and not try to rub it in on the team that just beat you. I know I was going to till you got salty and needed to remind you of your place. you'll remember this match when I post it on youtube.

PS: I don't claim to be the best of sports.

How about no digital handshake after mopping the floor with the other team?
Log and play another game.
There is no need to crow over the other team after crushing them. None.

Particularly given that here, a 12-0 game could still have been a very close game. Unlike in sports, the end result is not really a score.

In regular sports, psychological things aside, having someone score on you doesn't increase the likelyhood of scoring again. Here, as soon as one mech is destroyed, it's easier to destroy more, and harder for the shorthanded team to destroy the mechs of the larger team. So, a large score differential in traditional sports is inherently indicative of a stomp. It's not the same here.

12-0 equaling "close" in MWO is kidding yourself. You killed nothing. You failed at aiming- and in fact, the more damage your opponents sustained without being killed, the better they were than you both offensively AND defensively, as this also means they were superior at spreading the damage they took, covering each other, and in general showing you were a mob of incompetent opponents, not a "team" worthy of being competitive.

It's like saying you were "close" because you bounced 12 shots off the goalposts, while your opponent put 12 past the goalie and into the net.
Spoiler
And not understanding the psychological effects of repeatedly demonstrating to your opponent that they fail at stopping you in sports? It's part of how one ends up "running up the score" in competitive play happens- eventually, the losing team no longer believes that 1) the opponent is stoppable and 2) that it matters, and their effective skill declines rapidly.

And yes, I'll go "Sorry for the stomp."

Any team that my team beats 12-0 or 12-1 didn't belong on the field with us in the first place, and in that I point straight at the matchmaker. I'm sorry you didn't get opponents of even remotely similar skill or the chance to even feel like it was an even game, but I'm also not playing at a lower level to handicap things. You play to win. Anything less disrespects your opponent, just like telling them "GG" when they clearly had nothing resembling a potential win in hand coming to the match.

If that blows someone's mind? Too bad. You were bad, I feel bad about it, but I won't lie to you and say I enjoyed obliterating your team completely unless I hated your guts to begin with- in that case, I'd tell you as much. And if you competed and actually showed some fight and lost respectfully? Heck yes, I'll "GG" that.

But "GG"ing a stomp is insulting the other side in my book.

I'm used to saying "gg" at the end of a match regardless of the outcome because I had learned it was a sign of respect for a well fought match regardless of how it went down. It is a form of handshake at the end of a match.

Many sports line up for handshakes to congratulate each other. They do it regardless of the score and not only if it was a real close game.

Anyway, that was back in the Quake 2 CTF days, now players seem more sensitive.

Now because players feelings can be hurt by "gg" (maybe because good is in there), I am now using the salute "<o" at the end of a match.

Maybe it is time to replace "gg" and replace it with a salute "<o" or "o7". Maybe players feelings won't be as hurt. Idk.

if it actually was a good game and I want to congratulate the other team or whatever, I can be fussed to type an actual phrase (even if it's only 'nice game gents' or similar.)

'gg' is about as pithy and worthless as it gets no matter how you mean it

LOL wow, some people, if you say this here it is ok if you say the same there here you being a jerk....

I am with Krafty, why you would let complete strangers in most cases ruin your enjoyment of game simply by something that is said in chat is beyond me. Here is something else, I think Krafty pointed out but was missed. You may thing they are being Jerks, but guess what they have no Idea what your idea of a jerk is. We have all grown up in different places and different era's. Saying GG or GG close may simply be there version of spiking a football or celebrating a win or if they are being jerks they are saying it to get a reaction and by posting threads on forums making a big deal about in chat you are just giving them what they want. Either way trying to impart your Morality on them is not going to matter at all.

People play games for all different reason with all kinds of different attitudes as long as they are not breaking the code of conduct I could care less what random people say in chat, you want to impart your idea of fair play and good sportsmanship leave that to the Units where it should be anyway.

If I see people type something truly offensive I report them and move on, hell I reported the a guy who did a good job leading our attack in cw (We won) for team killing one guy who did not want to follow the rest of us. I understood why the derp guy who was leading us was upset but it was no reason for him to Team-kill at all.

Let PGI set the moral compass of thier game, and stop worrying about it yourselves and things will be much more enjoyable. If you can't do that turn off all chat.

This whole thread is why I'm just going to train myself to salute at the end of a match. A salute implies more respect without saying anything was good or otherwise.

Ahh Fast and the Furious. You stupid and fun movie. You taught us...

*Nitrous Oxide should always be called Nauss (NOS?) and it will explode like an atom bomb if bumped.
*That 1/4 mile drags take 5min to complete and about 30 shifts.
*Going too fast makes bolted or riveted on panels blow rivets and fall off.

and my favorite...

*If you fry your motor (piston rings specifically) and toast your engine, just let it cool for a minute and it will magically fix itself so you can run from the cops.

God that movie treated it's viewers like idiots (worse than the Transformers franchise). Stupid or not though, I still enjoy watching how bad it is lol.

Was only a good game as an example of what a light pilot should do during conquest. Not much else. Boring till the last 3 minutes I think, but the music is good. Not sure if I should link it, but not embed?

There's a reason half of you split from lords is there not? It's not like there weren't some pretty big egos in that group to begin with.

Hahahahaha, no. You implied that we cheated, then said we split because of egos. No one cheated, we all won as a team (the name we won as doesnt matter, its the group of people that do) and people were honest with their dissatisfaction towards the direction one person was causing the group to go in. That was it. Since that person had control of the name (and we didnt care about some dumb name for an mwo team), the competitive players left and formed EmP. Despite your hilarious narrative that it was egos clashing, or cheats being used, you are wrong and provided no support to your claims.

That makes you look extra silly. Did you know that?
