No they don't.
Remember you don't have access to the opposing team text chat and in game VOIP. I still recall matches where I have been on losing teams and the Team Chat and VOIP comments. Explains why some do not want to hear even GG and WP from the opposing Reds.

Lords continued past the letter and were still playing comp and still ggclosing people. It was the EmP split that rekt the team, as our best players left.
They had reasons for doing so but it wasn't due to ggclosing people.
Unless you think you have more first hand experience in the matter than someone that was actually there?
Nope, i just like to see you huff and puff...
Ggclose.

I usually only rarely see it at the end of stomps, but now it's happening pretty consistently.
The big victory here? Now we know trolls can read. The system works!

Is it a racist/sexist/below-the-belt profane expression or just a taunt/trashtalk which is common to online gaming? If its the latter, and you feel bad about it, then I believe you should be playing Candy Crush Saga or PvZ2 instead. I'm sorry but I there's nothing to vent out whenever someone says "ggclose" or "gg ez" or "gg noobs" in the game because its normal in online gaming. Try playing Dota 2 and you'll see MWO "trashtalkers" are actually more decent and nicer.

Some people are perpetually offended at everything. They believe that if the world seems to be giving you no offense, you aren't looking hard enough. It gets worse when they lose.

Yes. From someone who was there. They said the split was because Lords was pushing hacks on the team to back up their "ggclose" taunting. Guess it would have looked silly if you couldn't win. But EmP wasn't going to hack to boost their self-esteem, so they left you.
But hey, don't get all offended and stuff. Its just someone being salty on the net. People are so sensitive these days...

That never happened.
The reason EmP split from lords was over direction of the team. HoL at the time seemed to be more community warfare focused and recruitment/team mentality revolved around that. There were also arguments regarding leadership and what some viewed as policing. It had nothing to do about hacks or cheats.

Adi are you SURE it wasn't because half of you liked chocolate and the other half liked vanilla and the deep-seated rift eventually tore the group apart? As someone who was there, I'm pretty sure I heard that one guy saying this. Or I dunno, maybe I'm just talking out of my fecalhole. But thats probably what they said.

On rare occasions, I'd also say "no it wasn't", if I really screwed up. But I'll follow up with "still wp though".
I wouldn't, because just because it wasn't a good game for me doesn't mean it wasn't a good game overall.
When you say "no it wasn't" without clarifying beyond that, people aren't going to assume you're just irked that you screwed up, they're going to take that as an insult.

In white suburban upper middle class white society...what you say is true. Its not "adult society" and it hasnt been for DECADES.
I have to tone down considerably to be here and not get permanently banned. If we all acted like my friends, family, wife, coworkers, we'd all be playing other games. Smacking each other in the balls, playing pranks, cursing, arguing with strangers, is the norm. Were not rude. Its not like were going down to where you guys hang out and acting like jerks. If we acted this way to people who didnt want it, it would be wrong.
So it makes sense that trying to E-Police someone because of the way they act, is acting some way against someones will too right?
A night playing actual Battletech with friends, involves beer, a bong, copious amounts of cursing and smack talk. Most of which would make George Carlin or Larry Flynt blush. Thats perfectly acceptable. At a rock concert is perfectly acceptable. Because these are events that people who act like that set up for themselves because they dont want to have to deal with people telling them how to behave.
It would be nice if we could just find an acceptable middle ground between punching each other, and putting pickles in your beer.
You guys can be polite. We'll be snarky. We'll both still have a good time shooting mechs ok?
GG close.
The difference is, how you act with your friends, family and coworkers above? That's fine. That's how I act with mine, too. But how you act with friends, family and coworkers and how you act with complete strangers is not the same.
MWO isn't exclusively full of your friends, family, and coworkers, nor is the internet at large. The vast majority of people are complete strangers.
Your friends, family, coworkers, those people who know you well, you all understand the context and feeling behind what's said. You know the trash talking is all in good fun; it's common and accepted throughout the group in an unspoken social contract. That doesn't exist with strangers.

It's like some folks on the stomped team WANT the victorious team to say things like "ggclose" or "rekt".
Victorious or defeated, you'll get people complaining about anything someone says at the end of the game. I can see how this negativity might bring out the ****** in anyone and prompt the "ggclose" chat.
Just remember folks, it's only a game and like most games people are going to shake your hand afterwards in the spirit of competition. Saying "gg" at the end of a match is a digital handshake to show respect to your opponents.
Except that when you treat a pack of flailing idiots as actually having had a "good game", you haven't.
A 12-1 loss is not a "gg". Your attempt at sportsmanship becomes nothing more than sarcasm, regardless of intent. People know they were bad, and you're sitting there treating it as if it was a good thing that they marched out there and died to a man in under 5 minutes while the only loss on your team was that twit who ran in front of the Dire Wolf and got cored in the back.
Show some sympathy instead. "Sorry for the stomp.", for example. I'd rather have the other team be truthful than "kind", and "participation awards" like that GG are the worst.
