I beg to differ using the Marauders superior speed and agility and smaller profile I will make quick work of the slower, larger target, that is the inferior Marauder IIC doppleganger.

But it doesn't have superior speed. A stock MAD runs at identical speeds to a stock MAD IIC. To get up to 82 kph on a MAD, you have to run a 345 engine. Now, I've built some gnarly mock-ups already with a STD 345, but they require getting somewhat close (~350 meters) and what do you think the IIC is going to be packing? It'll cut you up as you get close and then continue to maul you once you are close. To boot, you can cram a C-XL 380 to 400 into the IIC and be moving in the same speed bracket while simultaneously having more tons to stuff guns into.

Naturally, pilot factors in, but on paper? I'd bet on the MAD-IIC every time.

If you haven't already, go play a fast Battlemaster. If you're good with it, it's probably one of the most hilariously liberating experiences in this game. Runs at 80, can tank damage because lots of armor, packs lots of guns with lots of cooling and decent range...its only real deficiencies are the arbitrary torso twist restrictions and the fact that it is still out-ranged and out-gunned by Clan laser boating. Even a BLR with the stock STD 340 is surprisingly light on its feet and hard-hitting with its stick.

"I wish to have no connection with a ship that does not sail fast, for I intend to go in harms way." She'll be fast enough for that over sized copy cat.

Points if anyone knows the writer I quoted. :) Still remember that quote from elementary school days. :)

Another relevant quote. "She's fast enough for you old man."

"I wish to have no connection with any ship that does not sail fast; for I intend to go in harm's way." - John Paul Jones, American Naval Commander (1747-1792)

I use it as my signature over on the NGNG forums. Don't post there much, but, well, hey.... Y'know? ;)

$15 for the LE Bounty Hunter is not a bad deal. And the Collector Pack Camo looks very cool... Time to turn in Bottles for Bullets!

Marauder, Warhammer, 2 of my all time favorite rides. They already stated they have art done for the Warhammer, but they want to guage reaction with the Marauder first.

To all you haters, who keep saying "looks too much like the kingcrab." I'm literally not seeing it. And I'm an AVID king crab pilot. I mean, yeah you could argue the body is vaguely king-crab shaped, but I don't think it's that bad honestly.

Seriously people, what the hell do you want? Do you want the mech in game, or are you literally just hinging on NOSTALGIA OMG MUST HAVE ORIGINAL MARAUDER! Because if it's that last one, feel free to go try to buy out Harmony Gold so we can put the entire thing to rest... Otherwise be happy you're getting something that looks better than the original Reseen variant.

Speaking of "This is a Marauder", Catalyst saw PGI's release and put their own new version out for the public:

It's weird how this Marauder looks more like Alex's artwork than the Alex's Marauder we'll be getting. It's just too... Clan-like and modern looking. It's not what i'm looking in an InnerSphere mech.

The Mechwarrior Online Marauder is so awsome I am not surprised its getting trolled. Also I cant wait to see Mechwarrior Onlines take on capital ships, seriously. I would like to see what they have designed for future content. The new Warhammer included. Solaris arenas are up there for what sneak peaks I would like to see also.

Some games have tons of concept art to view. This one not so much and its some of the best.

Anyway the Marauder coming out is a 10/10.

Who's trolling?
I genuinely prefer the Catalyst image over the MW:O version. The MW:O version, in my opinion, looks too modernized, too rounded and too sleek, it's missing the charm of battered, chunky, old-looking Inner Sphere mechs, the charm that the Catalyst version has.

It is made in the future, so it should look like it was made in the past?

Because it doesn't follow the established aesthetic of Inner Sphere mechs of "Old, battered, chunky war machines" and instead is much closer to the "Sleek, mean, aerodynamic sports car" aesthetic of the Clan mechs.

BattleMechs are still built in a future time-period, and they have to be new at some point before they become old and battered. I like Alex's futuristic-looking aesthetic, just hope they scuff it up a bit and add the approved amount of IS-authentic dirt on top of it ^_^ Minmatar faction in EVE is the same - even the dev's joke about making sure new ship textures and models have a sufficienct layer of rust on them.

Okay lets get of clan mechs- making it look like it's a clan only problem. The atlas doesn't have half of it's LRM 20 on the other torso-

Is there anything as funny as watching a know-it-all attempt to twist the very fabric of reality to avoid everyone seeing they were wrong? :D

Wut?

late night but a bit complex, basically it gives the illusion this is a clan mech only problem that weapons are not where they should be or arms. I brought up the atlas as an example of an IS mech. for instance

Posted Image
Old MWO concept art of atlas
Posted Image
MW4 mercs

etc. they all show an LRM 20 that is split into "2 LRM 10's" one on each side torso. in MW: O this is not the case because this will have implications with the overal rules of weapon locations on a mech

However, lore-wise the LRM-20 on the Atlas only has 5 tubes and shoots in 4 salvos.
And that is true in the original Atlas TRO artwork. (Except that the LRMs are on the waist, while the SRM is in the chest, which is the other way around in a lot of other representations)
