D all the way. At least in as much as the cockpit is concerned, it has the most authentic Marauder feel to me, which is lost with the other cockpit designs.

D also happens to be a most original lawsuit material, I like the larger cockpit that actually makes sense and could actually be seen out from when piloting one.

While 1:1 copy of this is what I grew up as an Marauder, I can change with the times. Maybe some others should too?

I honestly thought that mech looked to skinny, gangly and narrow.

I dont mind PGI's Marauder. If anything, PGI art does a good job of making it look like were piloting Battlemechs, over skinny little robots. Really, alot of the TRO mechs look skinny. I always wondered how the Clan mech's arms stayed on. HBR, TBR, all thier arms are attached with those narrow vacuum extension tubes....

MWO, the arms are attached by actual armor and structure.

Only thing I dont like about PGI Marauder is the shoulder mounted cannon...otherwise, the mech does make the Marauder look better. I still think its just an ugly mech, but PGI made it look ok.

I'm a fan of OP's designs "C" and "D." However I most prefer Alex's early sketch.

If I were to make one change, I would center the RT gun above the cockpit. The central dorsal gun is an iconic feature of MAD.

If it HAS to be cut to avoid legal hell with HG, then that is a massive shame and I can not wait for the day that HG finally ceases to exist in any way, shape, or form.

Wow it looks like Alex even integrated that bottom police siren looking thing into his concept art (at the tip of the nose)

You keep calling things skinny as if that's a bad thing when what it really has is a streamlined silhouette which is exactly what a war machine wants.

That's why shimmering sword's design is bad. It is just asking to get shot to hell.

Least it can take a shot without its arm falling off or a leg. Unless you are assuming it won't get hit there, it has to be bulky to take multiple shots.

I've been thinking about this since the Marauder was announced. I want one with ballistic hardpoints in the arms like the 'Phract has. Honestly I don't think I'd pilot anything but a dakka based Marauder and my King Crab ever again...

With IS Marauders you are out of luck.

You just must hope that PGI will include one special 75-ton 'Mech for you - the Bandersnatch.

I'm getting used to the design.

But my problem was that it clashed with MWO's established style. Looks a bit like its out of the Halo universe as a covenant machine

The design with the full hood.

D.

I logged in just to post how much I love the design once the cockpit is covered up.

Tiny change made it into the marauder I always wanted.

To me the A cockpit make the Marauder look like 20-40 ton scout mech instead of a 75 ton heavy. D cockpit would almost be perfect if MAD was a 95-100 ton assault mech. Honestly I would like the A cockpit moved from being the nose to a similar placement like where the Catapult, Timberwolf and Direwolf cockpits. Unless the goal is get rid of unwanted mechwarriors and social generals without the accusations of intentionel friendly fire.

Maybe if we're lucky they'll use it for the unique geometry variant

Oh boy, another of my favorite mechs being redesigned. Not just another one for that matter, but my all-time favorite.

I mean, I can't exactly expect an HD version of the one from MW2, but.. Meh. For some reason I'm just not impressed.

Personally, I much prefer that early concept Alex did. It looks a lot more like a Marauder IMO while actually having a more IS-like quality to it in the design. The current concept we received looks too far in Clan design for my taste of the original chassis.

In fact, I would much prefer Alex to shelve the concept they released and modify it later for the Clan IIC version. I'm not a big fan the of smashed shell look of the TT miniature, but I think the concept looks pretty sleek and much more of a clan design than what I feel should be a bulky, war machine IS mech. Lets face it, the old school Marauder's design didn't even fit as it was art from Japanese anime and fit nowhere in the style of the rest of the mechs.

i like it as it is
its got that classy starleague feel with out crossing to far into clanner feel
its big and scary and mean
its cockpit is a needed change and looks like the pilot can actually fit inside it for a change (no more zentradi battle pod visor)
its air intakes say im a jet fighter but its cannons say im a battleship, its a nice mix of sleek and death dispensing

flying debris marauder is a modern and glorious battlemech

you guys can keep your crusty old minis and tro filth

Yeah, I like that etcha-sketch Marauder there, looks very beefy.
