In the solo queue, I've been caught with my pants down more than once. I've had under 100 damage games in the Direwolf, typically when left behind and flanked by a group, sometimes it's just an unlucky artystrike-headshot. But this is a rare thing! Occasionally we all just have a bad game, but If you are consistently scoring less than 400 damage with all 4 mechs in CW, I strongly encourage you play in the regular queue against people closer to your skill-level. Even more alarming, are people consistently scoring under 100 damage with all 4 mechs! Now, you really ought to be aiming for ~1,000 damage, but averaging anything up to 500 or so is a serious handicap to the team. If I get three or four (or more?!) of these people on my team twice in a row, I just have to quit playing. It's too frustrating! Recently I played a game where 1/2 of the teams 20 kills were solo kills by me, and almost 3/4, I had 'most damage dealt'. This is absurd! I should never out-damage an entire lance, much less two lances, with my first mech!

TL;DR
If you consistently get ~400 damage (or less), I recommend the solo queue! Aim for at least 1,000!

I feel you....
Spoiler

And I just don't get the mindset of those guys. Assuming 2 games per hour with a score like that would mean about 200k total C-Bills. No matter how bad you are, you should be able to earn more than that just by going pugging....

Is it the winning bonus after the match that gets them to the terrible idea of queuing up and dragging down their team in the hope of getting carried to the 180k extra payout?

free mechbay on lvl 2 loyalty (or even on lvl 6 loyalty)

basicing/eliting new mechs, especially bad ones, not caring if it hits your psr/stats or not

pugging is almost always more profitable for c-bills than cw, you should be in a strong group and also should get drops easy for it to be otherwise

Even that would be far faster in pug, just what amount of xp are you gonna get with 450 damage spread across 4 mechs?

And just the level 2 mechbay will be 20 games out assuming 150 avg loyalty points for your terrible score....

faster but you missed the psr/stats point; cw games don't count for your psr (they briefly counted but it was canceled on 8th september) and stats, you can do w/e there... it's basically the place to freely test your stuff, a sandbox

i dunno i usually get lvl 2 loyalty in around 4-5 games even with a complete trial deck including an lrm trebuchet performing pretty average

btw you can easy have 200+ game score and ~400 damage

400? My personal line for judging people is 1k dmg. In CW you can take 4 Mechs and with a decent one you can do 1k in 5 minutes without much struggle, simply by avoiding the silliest decisions. That takes practise though. Many here have been playing games like WoT before and can do better because they "trained ahead". Most people only noobed around old MW games though and arena multiplayer games are simply too different to translate well.
But hey, practise is practise and people won't learn without doing mistakes :)

i consider anything under four digits bad. 1200 or so is pretty common for games that end in victory. ive dropped with some units where it was just a solid line of 1200-1500 damage scores all the way down the board. ive had a few games end with >3k but those are rare for me and usually are a product of a pug on pug drop and a lot of dumb luck.

This is exactly the kind of talk ( as true as it may be ) that leaves CW dieing.
The community does not even come close to an averange of 250dmg per mech in cw. ( Or in any other game mode on a regular basis )
Its just that most ppl dont play cw.
Those you see regularly in cw are either unit fragments or smal minority of ppl playing cw cause they either are normaly beeing carried by their unit in cw ( like me ), just trying cw for fun, or accumulating loyality points.
So what ?
Either you put restrictions up to prevent 75% of the players from playing CW ( wich should by then be renamed ) because their averange performance stinks or you accept that trained and coordinated units rob the fun from the vast majority of the players, who also would want a decent chance in this game mode.
That would mean braking up large groups ( an option I find to be unacceptable )

So what....I just dont know

The gap between high performers and learners is too large and the playerbase too smal for large scale CW

Lets see what phase 3 and steam brings.

Edit: I realy realy think you should come down from your high horses.
What is most annoying in most casual games ( and MWO is handled as casual game by pgi even if i think thats completely bulll ) are overperforming players ranting and raving about the noobness of averange players.
When I'm out teampugging at my evenings with some guys from my unit its mostly just the ruination of that evening to run into some 12 man well known unit team. Its just annoying. Sure we try, but for me the greatest amount of fun would be when our whole team would just disconnect.
Stomp denied, :P go bully someone else. B)

Average CW wide damage during the hardcore event was 960 and the mercstar average as of recent is 1220.

Kills and assists tend to correlate w/ higher damage and presumably winning...

To be sure, monster amounts of damage isn't the be all end all but it is nice to have.

i also think that 500 dmg in CW is the minimum to have contributed to the fight, if you were able to draw the fire on you exactly when the other team members were in the open shooting like crazy at the enemy

My hats off to you guys. My last 8 CW matches have been between 100-400 damage in 4 Omnis. I am trying out Gauss Rifle builds+ we have gotten stomped.

I wish I could say that my games are 400+ damage,10+ Kill Assists, 1-4 Kills but I can not.

Whenever I play CW, as rare as that is, failing to break 2000 is a failure.
This is of course assuming the game wasn't a one sided stomp.

I thought it was the other way around, CW more profitable than pug. At least for some time, it was.

CW in general is not a good way to farm Cbills.

That has been my experience, but I read somewhere that it was more profitable. In general, I like pug more for XP and farming C-bills. CW is good to spice things up and get those free mech bays.

25-30 minutes per a cw game unless a stomp, like 15-60+ minutes to wait for one... and the repay is close to what you get for 2-4 ordinary pug games which can be played in 15-40 minutes

CW game time + wait time is far less profitable than pug queue.

And this is the kind of attitude that is going to kill the game with the so-called rebalance setting up the game around teh underhive instead of the more skilled players. You could choose to improve, but thats hard work. Instead you want the game dumbed down to your low level of play. You talk of being bullied but I don't get to choose my opponents, and if I could I sure wouldn't want to face Tier 5 players ( like yourself ). You tell us to get off of our high horse; maybe you should get out of the basement .
