That was true at the start of the event, but they removed that stipulation from the event on the first day I think. Which is why people started DC'ing a lot more.
DC'ing after being killed was okay. And DC'ing but getting back in the game before it ended was also okay. However, I think people's DC counters were still going up when they DC'ed in these ways. This is why PGI removed the DC penalty.
I think the problem now is that no one is getting their rewards. I have to wait to get home to check mine (and get the Black Knights too)...so a few hours away. :-(
PS: I had one death from an actual technical related DC early in the event. But that was it for me. :-)

Could we please bring back this event for another week for all the players who had limited time to complete the event?
I think it would be a great moral boost for the more casual MWO as well as hardcore 30+ hour a week MWO players that either ran out of time, or just didn't get the map they needed. It was very difficult to split focus between solo/CW queues and to get the maps you needed. I ended up falling short from the Tier 2 CW portion by one map, Vitric Forge, she was an elusive hottie. I did drop on all the maps in rotation in CW queue, but getting the match score of 300 proved to be difficult unless you lurked around like a stealthy ninja dealing damage and not losing any mechs. I'm glad there was some CW focus for this challenge, but I feel it would have been better to not split the player base between solo/CW queues. It would make the events more enjoyable and less of a grind if it was a focus on just solo/group queue or just on Community Warfare. That way the entire player population participates and focuses on one aspect of the game and increases the rate of drops.
Overall I really enjoyed this event and would like to see more, but I feel a bit bummed that I couldn't drop on the map(s) I needed the most when I needed them. Perhaps a solution to this going forward is to require a specific match score across any number of maps. For example: Tier 1 needs 150 match score on any 10 maps, Tier 2 needs 250 match score on any 20 maps, Tier 3 needs 350 match score on any 30 maps, Tier 4 needs 450 match score on any 40 maps, etc.. I feel that this type of scoring system (at least for solo queue) would limit disconnects and self-destructs because every map in the rotation would count and be another chance to achieve a better high score than before. Something like this should also be applied to CW events as well, because they also suffered from a lot of disconnects and players just not wanting to drop or perform well on maps they didn't need.
I know that the event is over now, but please consider bringing it back (sans the Top 10 leader boards, I don’t want those players to lose all their hard work and effort) so that the player base without as much time to grind through all the requirements has a chance to achieve their Tier 1 / Tier 2 rewards for both solo and CW queues. I spent about 40 hours playing for this event and still fell short of completing all the tiers in CW, by 7 points on one map, so I can only imagine more casual players not even getting as far as some of the other players did.
Keep up the great work and the ultra-fun and competitive matches and these cool events. Thanks!

Well, then this was the worst PR campaign ever, so wrong it should be taught in school.

Meanwhile, the disconnect penalty was removed since the system was bugged in the first place, so I doubt they're trying to hand out any kind of punishments-given the level of frustration caused by this event itself, any kind of punishments would only cause PGI to dig itself deeper into a wider hole...Remember when ghost heat, cool shots, and third-person cameras were applied? People responded by instituting charge-backs against PGI and revoking their payments for their mech packs (of course, those accounts got banned in the process...).

As much as I concur with the idea of lowering the point threshold, I wouldn't mind seeing this implemented as well. I actually qualified Tier 2 of the 400 points threshold BEFORE the change was applied...and while I was pushing for scores to be lowered, I do feel like that I wasted about 15 hours worth of time fighting for my life and playing my heart out just to qualify. I went for public games first, THEN switched to Community Warfare, but the entire affair was an all-day thing: a straight 72 hours worth of Mechwarrior Online. I'm glad I had the weekend off, and I sympathize with everyone who was not as fortunate.
Yeah, this was definitely more frustrating than To The Victors a year ago: 1 kill, 1 assist, match win, and SURVIVE!
