They really shouldn't be screwing over disco abusers like this. They kind of brought it on themselves with this kind of event.

No, don't punish the abusers, cheaters, DCs, and those that went full on ****** for some pixels and griefed every single person in every single drop they DC'd on.

Those poor DCs are the victims here! PGI made them DC, cheat, exploit, and abuse the system for personal gain at the expense of ALL others.

No, don't screw over DC abusers!

It needs to be pointed out that PGI has never registered these contests with any LAWFUL authorities.

Time spent with no return for the challenge.

That is why it is a challenge and not a give away.

Am I upset I did not get 1 map in CW? Yes.
Do I blame anyone/anything? NO! (Though I could have spent more time in CW and possibly gotten that map if the "normal drop" requirements had been lowered earlier)

Random is random and can go funny ways.

All of you guys who say that PGI is giving free stuff and we should be happy are missing the point. When you give a challenge then it has to be possible to finish. When its not that case like in this one because of poor map rotation then you have frustrated people who really tried to finish something impossible. Thats sadistic and unfair from PGI side. Anyway i want to thank PGI for rewards and please guys dont make this kind of challenge anymore.

It was possible. You simply were not able or willing to spend enough Time.

In fact, in a 5-Day-Window its not possible to miss a specific Map. ofc, you need Luck and also Skill to do enough dmg, when you finally get the Map, but if you didn t take the rare chance (not enough dmg) or when you never saw the Map, you simply had bad luck + not enough grinding. And yes that can be 24hour pure Ingame-Time, especially at the CW-Event-Part. And I also understand that not everyone likes or is able to drop that ammount of time. But to say impossible, thats a individuell Problem cause you didnt spend enough time then.

Kai im glad that you finished the challenge and i congratulate you. But in your case you just had luck to get all these maps. I played more than enough for last 5 days ( at least 24 hours ) as many other people but we couldnt get just one map.

And if challenge depends only on luck then its not challenge, its lottery.

Thank you Nikolai. In Fact i personally got nothing, i made the Event for my two Sons, little Daughter and my Girlfriend.

I really hope you finshed all Maps Tier 1 or even Tier 2.

Your Post: On the last Event Day, i finished Account Three. May be luck.
But till the Rest of that single Day (6 hours) i nearly finshed Tier 2 on a fourth Account again. Again luck?

No. I simply think, if you are good enough to do 300 Matchpoints in 6 from 9 cases, you dont need the Map more than twice.
If you need Hours to get the right Map and miss, and then Hours again to get the right map and miss again ... and so on... then its impossible, thats right.

CW costs me the time. Without CW, i would have been able to finish the Tier 2 Singlemap-Event 5-7 times in five Days for sure.
Also i play much more than 24h Ingame-Time, thats true... No-lifer, i know..,

Simple Challenge??? Really?? Dude, did you even try for it? Gettign half or even most of the map, sure its a cakewalk, but after around midnight almost EVERYONE i seen in a match only needed one map, and had spent hours and hours trying for it. How is that simple? I had an 18 hour grind to do it and only finished with around 3 min to spare before it ended.

View PostDaFrog, on 22 September 2015 - 01:49 PM, said:

It needs to be pointed out that PGI has never registered these contests with any LAWFUL authorities. How do we know the RNG nature of the map selection ? How are we assured that the people on top of the leader board did not receive additional information from people associated with PGI. We are being told there is an investigation by PGI. PGI investigating us I understand, but who's investigating PGI and how do we know everything is on the up and up.

It is one thing to organize contests for c-bills, and camo. But when you do such events for prizes that can only be purchased using real cash, there are a lot of legalities to cover. And we have no information on this company going through due process in this regard.

And just bend the rules? SIMPLE but have to use your head and your colleagues of the teams and they are the first and not you SIMPLE. The challenge was to see who was this mech elite playing. SIMPLE my only complaint that I agree with all the guys was the maps. It recorded when the map appeared only 5 in 5 times that and boring rest of the team and that complicated the event is all. SIMPLE. By the way the game does not work you still do not get it. PGI NOT SIMPLE PLAY YES. :P

Thanks for your answer Kai Allard Liao.

But I am still disappointed, and will not play for a while.
I spent a lot of time in the CW-Challenge, 30 hours + maybe 40 hours, can't tell was to busy playing Mechwarrior online.
It is bittersweet seeing you, making 2 complete CW-Challenges, while in the meantime I am not able to do 1 complete CW-Challenge due to: not offten hitting Vitric Forge, the last map I needed, to hard enemies, not good teammates, and missing Skill of me.

But I had one Map with the right guys on my side, the right guys on the enemy side, and then it was missing Skill and bad luck on my side.

Seriously feels bad man... 134 placement on public cue.. crimson straint only rolled in after 2 days of trying. By that time the points were lowered to 300 and I just wasted 2 days trying to get the public part done.. without saying feels **** bad. CW part didn't have a chance to be completed at this point. So much time wasted on a borken system. Now if only PGI would learn something from this but based on the past events it seems most of the crap might even be intentional.. who knows.

I m very very sorry for you, tee5, especially i meet you several times in solopug and also, if i remember right we did the Lance-Event or smt like that together.

I know you as a very smart and kind Player!

Can t be, that PGI frustrates the good ones that much, that they quit playing (for Days or forever)!
It hurts always the wrong Guys :-(

I talked much to my Girlfriend about that CW Event and she agreed with me, that the Event is Hardcore without a very good Team on your side. Also that Matchpoing-System is absolutely Crap for CW.

I hope we meet again ingame, when you are less mad to PGI after your Break (Dont know the right Word, sorry).

Kai

Actually, I think it doesn't worth more fuss. If it would be unintentional they would do something about it already due to the mass complaints.

So I'm starting to believe that all of this was on purpose. I mean they wanted to control the event and they decided even before it started that how many rewards will they give away. Technically, it was all random because if you got the map and haven't dropped with a bad team and got rollstomped right away it wasn't hard at all to get the score in the right Mech (600-800+ damage in a STK-4N, TDR-9SE, BJ-1X, etc. isn't a big deal).
But since it was random they made it sure that no more than a certain amount of people will reach it, doesn't matter what.

It is a bad design definietly. Not just because it isn't a challenge but a lottery. Mmo games are built around basic principles of conditioning and you can see it even in how events work usually, everybody have to be able to reach basic prices. Nobody complains about not getting a free Marauder but not getting T1/T2 even if they were grinding for it a lot.
In a good design imo you supposed to be getting T2 (T1 if you are really bad) for PUG or CW if you played through the event in a reasonable way - by that I mean 15-20 hours and not playing 50-60 hours high on caffein and forgetting kids in kindergarten. With that 50-60 you supposed to get both CW and PUG rewards. And if you are among the top contenders or you just exploiting the event with 12 men drop buddies, you can compete for that Marauder.

And again: It isn't about the worth of prices, it is about the "horse with a carrot" situation as somebody explained very well above. Actually even an event where you have to get 400 score 3 times on any 3 maps and you would get no more than 3 free UAV would work much better and would meant more fun.

(And about "this game gives more free stuff and event than any other". No it isn't. I don't care or whine about it or say this is bad, just not true. I'm not up to discuss other games here but e.g. WT gives you some small random free stuff every day for the first log-in - like an UAV, Airstrike or 50-100.000 C-Bills, I mean equivalent in that game - and for logging in in a row for 14 days you got some 150 MC - I mean their own premium currency. So MWO isn't a top contender in this issue. But again: I don't care, it isn't something why I play a game for at all.)

1st Remark:

The Time for CW was just too short.
On oceanic and european Time it's difficult to even get a game.

I didn't even make Tier 1 because :
Hellebore Springs:
195

And then there are players that just stay in there 1st mech on purpose too get the high matchscore.
And his team looses the game, mostly.
My rank for CW: 1156

2nd remark:

Why lower the rank for public que Tier 2.
Good players tried real hard to get and then you lower it.
For Tier 1 i can understand.
But not for tier 2, and at he end when most people rlly tried it and got it or not.
My rank for public: 180

my 2 cents.

PS: I rlly ike events, but you can always get better at how you make them.
And we had more new players in CW, finally. (by far not enough, but hé!)

can we stop beating the dead horse?
event is over, lessons were learned, flames were posted...

and anyone being disqualified for too many disconnects should be notified so by PGI? at least that would make sense, since the counter was defunct..?

i assume there will be an official statement from PGI sooner or later? please?

The 3-days premium time was automatically activated. Couldn't they leave the choice to us when we can activate it? I am burned from this event and wanted to take a break from this for later.
