Really, u should turn off maps that doesn't count for the event. And that disconnect rule is just crap.

OK, one question...

I don't know if anyone has asked this, but to me, there is one unclear point..

Do we have to win the apointed match score on ALL the apointed maps to get ONE prize pack, or do we win ONE prize pack PER map on which we acheive the appointed match score?

So, for the solo que for example, if I win on all the maps, do I get 2 milion cbills or 18 milion cbills total? (2M for each map)

It is very clearly said that you need the required score from all of the maps in rotation for this event, and you can check your results on the tournament page.

Also, I noticed one thing that's kinda unfair about the leader boards...

Some timezones get to start accumulatng leaderboard points ahead of others, and there is practically no chance the late-commers can catch up..

How am I supposed to be top-dog on a leaderboard that is designed to reward no-relationship, no-job, no-life players that can sit all night and day and play the game...

I'ts 8AM, and I'm at work now, just saw the tournament announcement.. and have no ability to play untill 11PM becouse of various real-life obligations, and people allready have 5000+ points.. there is no realistic chance I could ever catch up..

I'm not whineing, I'm just saying.. no-lifers have a distinct edge... your not rewarding skill, your rewarding not having a life..

Maybe you should make the leaderboard reward best score only in a certain number of matches attempted.. not best 10 out of a gazilion matches..

That makes absolutely no sense. 9 maps, or 6 for CW, and you need one result from each map. The event takes 5 days, if you can't catch up to other people based on their results from the first 10 hours, it's because you can't deliver the results yourself, not because they have too much headway after the, uhh, 7%(?) of the event. The ones who score best get the top results, fair enough. Complaining about time zone in a 5 day event is just stupid.

From previous events I remember top scorers getting their average top10 result higher than my single best result. And I'm pretty sure I'm at top 1% myself. If my single top result doesn't even reach the average result of top scorers, there is no much room for argumenting that it's a question of time, not skill. I'm also pretty sure that it applies to you too, your best score at any map will not be good enough for top positions. This is a competition, best players will win, calling for handicaps is kind of lame, and even if there was limitations on how many matches are counted, it probably would change results very little.

Well, so far I have about a dozen games played for the event. My internet dropped out, and I disco'ed on one drop. I reconnected, rejoined the game I was in and was still alive. I finished the match, and kept playing. Other than that one disco that I rejoined I've played all of my matches to completion. I have one strike against me so far. The disco counter is broken PGI. Figured i'd let you know, other than that great event and THANK YOU PGI for giving good rewards this time. Much appreciated.

I also died 1 and left and got one disconect.
Also I have been 5 times on river city and 4 times on tourmaline so far, but never on viridian, caustic, hpg, mining colony or crimson strait. Please fix the map rotation and the DC issues.

I'd just like to thank the devs for putting a tournament event up. Because I didn't plan on having fun this weekend anyway.

I just thought of a good simile to this tournament. McDonald's Monopoly game. Millions of chances to win. Sets the regional distribution of game pieces to make it impossible to complete the sets.

3 kills, 7 assists, 500 damage ... not enough to achieve 400 match score. WTF?!

damage is the key, not sweeping over anyone and grabbing a few kills.

a short question... I haven't played CW since they changed the scoring formula. So it is enough to make 600 damage with 4 mechs to get to 300? And some little stuff of course to even out the 4 death penalties?

Or does CW have a different match score calculation?

How I see it, you either do the pug queue challenge and grind your way through it or you go the CW route with a easier(?) score and better rewards.

Or is there something I forget?

Haha, you're going to love this:

CW has different match score calculations, but almost none of it matters. Why? Because there is only one thing at the end that realistically determines your score: how many times you died.

Every time you die, your match score goes down. If you don't die at all, you get 100% of the match score you would have gotten anyway. Every death after that seems to divide down until at four deaths you get about 25% of the match score you would have achieved normally. It's super easy to get 1000 match score in a CW game, just don't die! If you die once, you'll still probably get ~500.

Have you played any maps not listed in standart queue since the beginning of this event?
For the last 10 hours I haven't.

Do you seriously believe someone can do 500 damage, 3 kills and 7 assists by "sweeping over" people?

Pretty sure others have stated this, but your system is counting disconnects even though they are dead when they drop. I got 1 disconnect, but was able to drop matches without it counting. Figured I had to wait a bit, and now I got my second even though there were 5 people that died after me. Seems no rhyme or reason to what counts as a disconnect. Would be a real shame for some to lose out on a prize despite the fact that your FAQ allows one to drop the match if he/she is dead.

No, you need the respective points on each map to qualify for ONE Prize Package. Altogether, there are four packages to be earned: Tier 1 PUQ, Tier 2 PUQ, Tier 1 CW, Tier 2 CW.

Why can't you catch up? You only have to complete 10 matches. If they are good enough, you'll be insta-propelled to the leaderboard.

I don't get it - when people do play the whole weekend, they are an asset to the game itself, making other people having less wait time. So, nothing wrong with people devoting more of their time to MWO having higher chances of getting a high-scoring match. IMO.

On the matter of discos:
Yesterday evening (local time) I had a CW match on Emerald Taiga, got disconnected (in my 3rd mech), rejoined (luckily that mech was still alive) and did NOT get a strike for it. Maybe it helped that I wasn't even aware of the event? Dunno.

The current matchmaking system punishes you for killing people efficiently and rewards people for a **** ton of spread damage. Great for arty strikers and lrm mechs, bad for pinpoint mechs and people shoot to kill. Pretty ****** matchmaker formula.

I was pretty excited about this at first, however your disconnect count is not working as intended. Out of the 5-6 matches I played so far this morning, I've already got 2 disconnects against me. I have NEVER intentionally left a match prior to dying in the 2 years I have been playing MWO.
Please fix this DC counting error or it's going to be a pretty short tournament.

So if you pug in CW and get stomped like usually, you need around 2400 damage with those 4 mechs? well... I think I play something else this weekend...
