3 kills, 7 assists, 500 damage ... is not enough to achieve 400 match score.

However, 2 kills, 7 assists, and 148 damage more, puts you well above the 400 qualification level...

That seems out of kilter to me.

You're absolutely right Apogee, the matchmaker formula is completely stupid.

The primary determinant of Match Score™ is damage. You get 0.5 match score per point of damage. Everything else is gravy, and might make up 10-20% of your total score. But if you get 800 damage and 1 kill because you spent a whole match systematically stripping a disco Atlas, you've earned your 400 point match.

Interesting. Seems there is a damage threshold for score? You could't have got that many other bonuses to account for the difference id say..

I was pretty excited about this at first, however your disconnect count is not working as intended. Out of the 5-6 matches I played so far this morning, I've already got 2 disconnects against me. I have NEVER intentionally left a match prior to dying in the 2 years I have been playing MWO.
Please fix this DC counting error or it's going to be a pretty short tournament.

Same here. I really like this tournament and was keen to have good battles, after 3 games: 2 disconnects. No idea what went wrong, I never dc intentionally before I have done my deed.
Now I'm scared to be disqualified, so I'm taking a break -.-

Suppose I die in a match..and then disconnect..(as i was wasting time)..
Would it count..for disconnect?

PGI says that as long as you died first (not counting out of bounds) you will still get credit.

Despite what PGI says, you will actually be penalized for a semi random number of disconnects and be disqualified if you disconnect for any reason. just spectate every game or go fix yourself a sandwich, or you will probably get no prizes at all.

Ive had 3 diconnects count. 1 i disco and reconnected, didnt matter. The others counted when i quit the match after dying. They will have to look into removing disconnect from challenge if they cant monitor it properly

Come on PGI please extend the event for a week. Many have said this before, family people have to do stuff on the weekends. This weekend I am moving out so I'll get little time to do this event. I love these challenges but so little time to do them.

The event states that:

"This Territorial Challenge features distinct Player Prize Packs for both the Standard and Community Warfare queues, with a chance to qualify for up to four Prize Packs!"

So up to four means:
1) tier 1 Standard Queue + tier 2 Standard Queue + tier 1 CW + tier 2 CW
or
2) (tier 1 Standard Queue or tier 2 Standard Queue) + (tier 1 CW or tier 2 CW) + Standard Queue Leaderboard placement + CW Leaderboard placement

I think that it is the 2nd but I am not sure. Anyone care to clarify this?

As for the discos, I do not disconnect before the match is over, even if I die, so no problem here.

Btw the disconnect rule makes perfect sense, as some pilots will disconnect as soon as they drop in a map that they have already a high score until they find the map they want to score higher, and they will ruin the matches for the rest.

The key is to get an arse ton of damage, try to get as many assists as possible if not outright kills, and DO NOT DIE.

Loosing your mech (or mechs in CW) cuts your score to ribbons.

The current formula is really wonky and encourages people once they have a couple kills and assists to then back off and avoid dying.

Anyone else getting disconnects recorded if they shouldnt? I have never disconnected/reconnected due to server problems and I have never disconnected BEFORE i died in game. Still 2 disconnects have been recorded! Seeing the tight limits (3?! You serious???), I am really a bit concerned about that issue. Good event besides that.

Are the required Match Scores reversed? As in CW requirements should be 300/400 and Standard Queue 200/300? Isn't it much easier to obtain those higher match scores in CW?

The scoring system is a litte strange. Some of my most effective mechs are somewhat pinpoint. 3 kills and 300 dmg does not give a good score. 0 kills and 500 damage does.

Both numbers are important, and none tells the full story. I can get lots of kills just by taking on thos my friends damages. But I can also get lots of kills with little damage being an active front line player taking down enemies fast.

On the other hand, I can run around shooting at different mechs or shoot different mechs with LRM and get lots of dmg without actually really damaging any mech that much. 50dmg off 10 mechs is 500 dmg total, but those mechs would most likely be very operational still.

If I could pass judgement on this - I would condemn PGI to completing this tournament, as is.
