This one time, in puglandia, my team of mech misfits tried (again) to win by splitting up into separate groups. Even though I tried in vain to rally the troops to a common point to engage the enemy, our numbers quickly dropped to 10v12, then 7v11, then 3v10 before I went down with guns blazing. As I went to spectator mode, I notice one of our survivors was fighting the good fight by himself. When he fell, we all switched to spectate the final team mate who was critically damaged and running away from the fray. He jj'd up to a high point on the map and then powered down
...with 7 minutes remaining. For some reason, he thought it necessary to make us all wait out the rest of the match in order to avoid racking another D in his K/D count. This has happened once before and the
Guys, I'm here to play a game by swapping laser fire with fellow mechwarriors. I seriously doubt anyone gives a crap about your personal stats, even if you do. Thankfully, the solution to this problem can be remedied with the game's built in tools. I suggest, for every second a player powers down, he loses a point from his score. This way, he keeps his precious K/D from dropping and, in exchange, he drops out of my tier so that we never cross paths again. See? A win-win for everyone.
