Territorial Challenge ... Don't Expect To Complete It

Once again PGI fails at math.
http://mwomercs.com/tournaments
We have a territorial challenge this weekend where you need to get a match score or 300+ and 400+ on each of 9 maps in the public queue in order to get a prize.
Sounds good right? Maybe 20 games if you get good results ... maybe 40 if you only make the match score on half?
Unfortunately wrong since it doesn't factor in the random selection of maps. It is most likely that you will be hard pressed to get that last map you need and getting that last map is usually going to take a while.
Here is a link to the math ...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coupon_collector's_problem
TLDR ... to get one match on each of the 9 maps will on average require on average 26 matches (sometimes a lot more) and that doesn't factor in whether you make the match score or not.
Getting 2 matches on each is the same as collecting 18 coupons in the table so on average it will take 63 matches just to get 2 matches on each map.
NOW factor in the match score.
How easy is it to get a match score of 300? 400? Do you see that 50% of the time? More? Less? Factor that in and you will need upwards of 120 matches in the public queue to complete just the public queue challenges.
Given how long a CW match takes ... it will take about 38 matches to get 2 games on each of the 6 maps. Hope it is easy to get a match score of 200 or 300 since with requiring an average of 38 CW matches seems to me will take most of the weekend just to see the maps.
LOL. PGI and math just do not go together.
I suspect there may be an IMMENSE amount of FRUSTRATION with this current tournament as the weekend rolls on ... as folks try to get that last match on that last map with the minimum required match score. A few will get lucky ... the rest ... well I will leave that to your imagination.

This one may be a tad bit too hard for most of the playerbase.
Has PGI ever made a change in moderation? We're silly if we expect otherwise.
My bet? One of these days they'll get it just right, until then, we hold out for the easy loot grabs on major holidays that are usually guaranteed winners for everyone.

If the rng MM hates you on a map that refuses to come into your cycle (was Canyon for me 1/20 matches 2 of 3 was set up with extremely timid players), you are going to get extremely frustrated with this event.
And took me a good 35 matches to see all the maps at least 1 times, with 2 maps sucking up more than 1/3rd of my drops.

People are having probelm with the random aspect of the event nothing else.

I don't think the event is too hard per se - just that the total reliance on a rng system to set you up with even a remote possibility to score on it is more of an issue.
If you can't get the maps you get frustrated and walk away.
If you get the maps and roll timid players on your team repeatedly you get frustrated and walk away.
Otherwise what usually happens is you get the maps you don't need and a decent team for every match in between those.

Could it even be done that way?

^This.
I used to try-hard my way through any and every event I could, but in the long run realized it was pretty much never worth it.
Lately I've been taking event weekends as an excuse to take the weekend off of MWO, to avoid all the weird gameplay they cause. I may play a bit this weekend, but not terribly motivated with how my matches have been going.
The events that start off with a easy-to-attain Premium Time prize as the first tier are the only ones that tend to draw me in any more, because at least then, you've got the Premium for the rest of however long you put into the challenge.

I mean, if you want to have a leaderboard dominated by people who have the time to spend hundreds of games looking for the perfect 8 or 10, fine. But make the general rewards something earned steadily rather than something that's essentially random.
Rather than one 400 point game on each map, require a total of 2000 aggregate match score on each map (or whatever.)
Making progress toward a goal is fun; getting rewards because the stars randomly align isn't fun.

Give me an event that can be handled by not playing the game like it is our job.
