Main edit: Followed my alt account with one matchscore of 6 falling from rank 13620 (friday evening CEST) to 24093 (monday evening CEST). Everyone above this score has to have played at least one match.

25k on tuesday morning and 25462 as the final count.

From the placements and reported activity of other players there seem to have been at least 12000+ players who played 10+ games.

Can't tell from my data where the tryhard ranks begin, but others can probably chime in here.


Edit 1: Got one matchscore of 6 with an alt account and ranked 13620 friday evening (CEST).

Edit 3: 17580 Saturday afternoon
Edit 4: ~19000 Saturday evening
Edit 5: 20436 Sunday morning
Edit 6: 21900 Sunday evening
Edit 7: 23283 Monday morning

I haven't played for days and after having one nice and one very bad match I find myself in place 11260 for public queue.

Right now it would only take one guy, who hasn't played in the tourney yet, to get one abysmal match in and check his place before playing further (best not playing any more) to get a as-acurate-as-never-before active player guess.

Not sure if I like this: Managed to earn a matchscore of 6 (sorry, mates, for science...) with an old account which placed me 13620th for public queue. I really thought this number would be way higher.

But I guess thats a fairly accurate count of how many accounts have played at least one game since the turney is on. I'll see on tuesday what rank I'll end up in.

Yeah, I will be playing in T minus 60 minutes.... So if it only counts those who have logged in thus far, I think many people are missing (darn you full time job! ).

well I hit a dpc watchdog violation in the middle of the match so Im guessing I did as badly as possible...

Just keep in mind that's 13k players since the event started yesterday and not counting all the players that can have an even lower amtch score.

Got an SSD?

This is almost definitely a driver problem on your PC. Go in event viewer and find the bluescreen event, look for the faulting module, PM it to me if you want I can probably track it down for ya.

I have no idea

I looked up the fix and it has something to do with power options so I clicked a few buttons and restarted and am hoping that fixes it lol

looking in event viewer but Im not seeing anything that says blue screen error annoyingly

You'll probably get a fairly accurate idea, but there will be a few others like me who skip this weekend because the event isn't at all tempting.

I think we all knew there isn't a huge playerbase anyway, considering how often you drop with the same few people repeatedly.

Way higher than 13,000 in 24 hours? What sort of numbers were you expecting?

Take a look at Steam top 100 and most of those games only have a few thousand players on at peak time.

..if it happens often to you, that is. Maybe we can track it down. Usually it's related to Video drivers... do you have a laptop?

I ran my driver booster and it came up with two out of date drivers so Im updating them

I believe 17 k was the number that took part in the turky raid event

I doubt active pop is over 20k

which explains why mechs are churned out so quickly
