I predict it will be less than 24 hours before some blowhard Starts a post with "I'm Tier 1 (or 2) so you need to shut up and listen..."

... and I predict that within minutes of said blowhard showing up, he'll find himself ridiculed into oblivion by other posters.
And while IMO that'd be a completely justified and righteous reaction, as such, the end result will be that we'll see the signal-to-noise ratio on the forums plummet.

I wager that there's a 50-50 chance that PGI will end up reversing the decision to have the tiers visible.

The decision is irreversible at this point.

Don't be so sure. Wasn't it just last week they let more Assault mechs into the game so all the buyers could try out the Mauler, not caring what medium and light pilots thought of that. Nothing is set in stone and all PGI's statements should end with "at this time".

They always release the valves when new mechs are in play.

Thought those valves were there for balance? Why is it ok to screw balance every time a mech gets released? Why don't we just get rid of them and have the 12v12 heavy and assault only matches people really want?

If I come out at any tier other than 5, then the whole tier system is borked, and should be thrown out.

Not that I give 2 shizzles out of a shaved monkey's @zz WHAT my tier is.

Strictly casual player, and intend to stay that way.

Because otherwise the wait times for matches would blow out excessively. The MM has relief valves when the wait gets to long for both 3/3/3/3 and skill level, its just if they release a new chassis they know everybody and their dog will be playing that single weight so they also manually tweak that weight class to avoid excessively delays. You watch when the Black Knight drops, queue will be 50-60% Heavy players wanting to try their new toys.

I haven't been very happy with my performance lately, so it will be interesting to see how that translates. Judging by the tournament rankings, there seem to be an awful lot of very dedicated and high performing players out there.

I understand the reasoning, I just disagree with it. I don't feel like adding extra assault and heavy mechs into every match is good for balance.

Well Tuesday we can see a our tier. What action will you take if any when you see yours and where would you like it displayed in game?

>Will you change your play style and builds to get better if you are a very lower tier?

>Would you like the tiers to be displayed (opt-in) after matches?

>Will you be happy if you are average?

>Will you come brag on the forums if you are huigher tier than you thought?

1 I will take no action
2 no
3 is this not how it is already going to work?
4 I reject he premise of the question. I do not derived happiness from a tier
5. I have no expectaions and thus cannot be suprises if it is high or low. No I will not brag because I take no special pride in a number of I assigns me to put me in a matchmaker bucket

Two LPLs and a gauss round to the face.

Really don't care about tier, just like I never cared about KDR, its meaningless.

I'm always trying to improve.

>Would you like the tiers to be displayed (opt-in) after matches?
Yes.

>Will you be happy if you are average?
Yes. I suspect my rating right now is terribad.

>Will you come brag on the forums if you are higher tier than you thought?
I might come on to express shock if I get something absurd.

I will change absolutely nothing. I will simply turn on public display of my tier and continue playing as I have and piloting the 'Mechs I have. If that means I stay whatever tier I start with forever, so be it.

With this tiers system public available you should see this as a continious event.

Each event brings the bad out of players. So will this tier system as i predict it based on other games.

Fun... Not!

Good peformance, but life? Don't think so. Some players have been playing whole nights and day just to that scores. In my opinion that's some extreme gaming (addiction?) right there.

That's insane, i would never do that anymore. I did it in the past when i played tournament for cash. I Only would stay late nights nowdays for grouping with American players.

i don't care anymore. This weekend showed the worst mwo could be (including me). I fear that tiers will change the playstyle of a lot of people. But not in a good way. When i see the high rollers and top players using lfg to pad down their tier rating just to compete with the top ten, my stomach starts turning. For the next event i propose a 'tier' evenT. Everyone stays in their tier. Some may have to wait a lil' bit longer, but hey theres always a price to pay for being elite.

This happens EVERY leaderboard challenge, going back to the solo even the first week of Elo.

Its not new, the only surprising thing is that PGI keeps putting them up.
