With only playing a handful of games played since its records for determining psr (start of 2015) started, I was right where I thought I would be in mid t3. Im not sure PSR obtained its original goal though, as it seems rather than skill based, its just a large "rank grind" and large groups smashing small groups still leads to better and more effecient rank gain than individuals perfoming well in back and forth small group or solo ques. Sure there are probably a few t1 pugs, but as I said it seems more of a grind and lots of drops helps in that regard. Just my first day observation though as low match score wins give me ^ to my rank while "high" match score losses have given me more = and deranking than anything. But at least its a start.

I'm happy with being Tier 3

I feel like an average player, so it made sense to me that I ended up mid-tier

on my main account, not really. I think it not being tied to Weight Classes, gives a little bit of a false picture, but I figured I was pretty middle of the pack, and considering how much I have been running non HBKs and CN9s this year, not a shock that I dropped a but lower than I would have thought, initially.

I was a little surprised at my Clan Acct being tier 4 at first..then I thought about it, and the fact that like...70% of my drops have been in stock Summoners.... and TBH, I'm actually surprised I wasn't tier 5.

Also any tier info will be biased by whatever class you have the weight of your matches in. If you are only good at Lights, let's say..... and Light Drops make up 90% of your drops, your score will be skewed higher.

Hence why I say they need weight class tiers.

Was expecting a little higher, like Lower or Mid Tier 3.
But end up being Upper Tier 4.

Probably because I have been spending alot of time grinding and dying in unmastered mechs.

Tier 5 Under Hive, and loving every moment of it, we are just so VERY bad at this game.

I get to bring really BAD mixed load out mechs into the game, and still do 500ish damage.

It is not clear to me what they understand as a good match... I mean, if I pilot a light and make 200 damage did I screwed up or did well?
It is very dark yet. I know a guy that is the best light pilot i have ever seen and he is in tier 4

In some respects I am a little surprised. On the one hand I tend to be harsh on myself and I do pay a lot of attention to my performance. I knew I was doing fairly well pretty consistently. However lately I wasn't doing as well as I thought I should be. I was getting a lot of mediocre scores and my W/L ratio was pretty stagnate. Then I played an Oceanic match where someone claimed it was his first game.

At that point, I thought:

• I was below tier 1,
  
• he was lying,
  
• or PGI had relaxed solo queue matchmaking on low population queues like Oceanic Server.

Finally we had that event. Of course I wasn't going for leaderboard placement, but I did play a fair bit over the weekend. Despite that, 1,393 people scored better than me in the regular queue despite completing both tier challenges.




So with all that in mind, I was hopeful that I was tier 1, but I thought there was just as much chance I was tier 2.

Looking back on it, I think my scores were going down because the people around me were just playing harder. Particularly for the event.

I was surprised that i am barely in Tier 3 (about a scratch of a Pixel) but on the other Hand i have not played much.
In the Founders Event i ranked 20th in the Mediums and 44th in the Lights and a few matches in Heavys and Assaults brought me into the ~600 range in that weigthclasses.
But that were probably the most matches i played in all the time since January - so i assume without the Tournament i would have been Tier 4 and that is seriously not were i should be placed bcs that would have been very unfair matchmaking to the opposing Team.

I did already wonder why i had none of the usual Names in my matches since PSR implementation but i could not really believe i would be lower than 3 in the original Tier seed.

Ok, my W/L has improved very significantly from barely 1.15 to ~2 (do not really track it - but i have 35 or 40 more Matches won than lost) in the Tournament.

I believe Tier 2 is possible to reach when spending enough playtime...

or there's less than 4675 people playing (which could be the case). Then again my K/D is only 0.74 so woot no T1-2 players in my match's.

Oh well at least I can't get lower

Said it in the other thread, if you are suprised by your Tier, consider the follwing:

I'm not anywhere close to 2500 matches since january (2600 since stat reset march 2014) still i'm t2 halfway through t1.
The number of your matches played since january is a big deciding factor when it comes to your Tier.

So if you feel like you are performing way above average, but only played 750 matches since january, there is a high chance that this is the reason for your Tier.
