Non-Comp Mwo Is A Cesspool Of Idiocy.

Even better when their damage caps out at ~200, but it's my fault that I utilised my mechs strengths - ie range, the abiltiy to use cover and spread/obstruct incoming damage- and didn't suicide run into the opposing force.
It's all well and good to say 'well try to take charge, give instructions,' and the like, but a good 95% of the time people don't listen or more likely simply don't care and charge off anyway. That is even more - even if only marginally - more frustrating than watching them use their 500+m range to slug it out in the open with the strange need to be right inside someones face at sub 50m.

The thing is, I've played a lot of games that required quick wits at a competitive level, FPS, RTS (and hell, even the mix of them in NS2). Almost all of them had more depth than MWO does, opportunities to outwit and outplay people based on something more than luck and aim, which is something MWO doesn't have. I don't have a problem with that, it's nice to have a game I can sit down and enjoy while I listen to music and let my brain drift. It'd be nice if this game were something more, I think it had the potential to be at one point but that ship has sailed.

Didn't that fight when a "fight of the year" award? Pretty sure I remember watching it and enjoying every...single...second.
Was a gimmicky type of fight that Pride would have once in a while...definitely not anywhere near the pinnacle of skill. Not nearly as sloppy but Kongo vs Barry was way better in my book...one of the greatest finishing sequences I've ever seen in a fight:

I might be biased because of the user name but I like technical displays of skill also:

- Go there
- Kill ****
- Win
Half the team will hover at or below the 200 damage mark, because they thought it was a good idea to stop and let the hostile DeathBall get to them (who went there, and killed ****, resulting in winning).
If your team decides to shoot things, you have a fair chance at winning. Stopping is not great for that.

However, you very clearly have only a foundational understanding of literacy skills, showcased by the mis-paraphrasing of half my text, creation of strawmen where there are none etc.. you'll have no more of my time, troll.
As for the rest of the responses, it's pretty much what I was expecting... a mixture of 'Brawling is more fun' and 'I don't think when I'm in pug games'. I especially love the people commending each-other on their simplicity, even going so far as to say that 'half the team will hover at or below the 200 damage mark, because they thought it was a good idea to hover and let the enemy deathball catch them' (paraphrasing). Here's a newsflash, mechs... move at different speeds, and spawn in different spots. An assault lance on the left hand flank needs assistance or the enemy lights/meds will catch them and core their rears. People who do as you say, are losing the game for themselves simply by not supporting their team, and are infact causing those people to get <200 damage. You're just too simple to realise it.
@aniviron, the game still has that capability, it's the players that hold it back. Also, are the suggestions I propose really complicated? Not rushing forward and creating a firing line for the enemies charge? Using cover sporadically? Heh...

No, I'm talking playing against competitive teams in CW.
"Competitive" and "CW" are almost oxymorons.

But really, most competitive teams don't play much CW. It gives you bad habits. Like playing too much PvE in other games.

This guy...
He was whining about Nascar on Caustic earlier. Let me guess, Tier 1 and it went to his head? He thinks he's a L33t player?
"Wait for the enemy Deathball" he says, in his Hunchback.
I do believe that was a sub 200 game for you...I wonder why? Might be mistaken, didn't bother taking a Screen. 8 sub 200 players is nothing to mention; far too common.

However I have to admit I'm one of those mindless idiots every now and then. Since the drop decks are random like the players there really is not much to it. I just focus on my own positioning and aim and that's it. Sometimes a pug commander rages but I really don't care.
Pug life.

This one time, before 3/3/3/3 in the days of 8v8, both teams got ~6/7 lights mechs. It was a crazy hectic but crazy fun match.

Of course I want puglandia to be a better place, or else I wouldn't have written this post. I don't care if I offend people, offence means nothing, get over it and learn. Be a goddamn adult.
@nova - I call instructions at the start of every game, people never listen, as soon as a blip is sighted they all rush it, without fail. I think herding cats is giving these idiots too much credit as rational thinking organisms. I'd use piranhas.
You gotta give respect in order to receive it. This thread you created seems more like a troll attempt.

If you're the only Assault who can't keep up, that's your problem.
You're right about the respect part; you deserve none.

Is that simple enough for you? I can break it down further if you want, can even teach you things like percentage differences, ratios etc.. if you're that far behind the curve.
