How do you prevent those builds from dominating the meta again? At least laser builds require more face time and spread the damage more due to beam duration. FLPPD builds require minimal face time and apply all the damage instantly to a single location.

You would be significantly reducing TTK by bringing that kindve frontloaded pinpoint damage back to the game. I do not believe that is the direction we want the game to go in.


Because there are mechs now that will murder PPC/Gauss mechs if they get within 500m.
Wasn't the case really before quirks in the poptart era.

That's DHS 1.4. MWO seems to have a problem with the damage level, from what are normal assault class load-outs. That's not going to change, I don't think, because Lights have to remain half-way decent. They could quirk the Warhawk maybe.

I don't see a problem with the PPC/ERPPC. Some players say "Nerf More", some "Nerf less". In the end though the PPC/ERPPC is currently canon except for the missing ability to disengage the field inhibitor and the slow speed. That could be fixed.

And sorry the ERPPC has no minimum range, it has 15 heat instead.

I know, but that seems to be how PGI wants it. I am just advising that two can work as an assist to load-outs of other weapons.

Lights are almost immune to PPC due to speed alone. I cant track or hit a light with a PPC for nothing. I aim ahead of them and still the shots land behind them, even from close range. And by the time I change aim, they dun jinked another direction...its near damn impossible to hit a light with a PPC...

Quirked with 1380ms the velocity on PPCs is ok, but the dmg/heat vs lasers or other weapons leaves them in the dust badly. They dont deal the dmg to warrant the weight, space or heat. THey dont travel fast enough to warrant trading in the hitscan of lasers.....PPD means nothing when it misses.

Lasers out DPS PPCs BADLY....

ANd i would love the Quirks the WHKP had on it. That rebalance is going to remove them. And even with the quirks, it has, the PPC just doesnt deal the damage to really warrant it. I can fire like 8 times before shutting down. LPL, I can chain fire like 18?
