I will hold onto my hard earned money and let those of you with DEEP POCKETS get into the kickstarter program and see what comes! Let folks with tons of disposable income throw their money at this new game!

From what I have read, it will be buy-to-play with the possibility of purchaseable DLCs in the future.

Jordan Weisman says: "It's going to be a single-purchase premium game, no F2P!"

Nice philosophy there. All others that are gonna try to support the project and kick it off the ground with the hope of being able to have a cool game that they love to play in the near future, are getting their money from their ever-growing money-tree and throwing it around.....
Thank god Jordan said it is gonna be a proper title to BUY and play.

It will not be F2P, it will be a single-purchase premium game.
Worth noting is also that all three Shadowrun games HBS has made over the years have released at about $20.

Don't we all. It's high time we got a quality BattleTech game.

Sorry to disappoint, but sitting this one out won't get you a free game to play.
You know you can usually kickstart for as little as $1 right? It won't get you much in the way of extras (or even a "free" game), but at least you're helping out.

Define "finish"...?

I'm interested in the kickstarter. Just waiting for details on how they're going to lay out the packages. If the smallest buy in is $1K, I'll wish them well and wait for a playable release. I don't think I'm ready to toss that much in up front. But if there's an option that's only a couple hundred $, yeah, I'll probably buy in to that. Hopefully their funding options make sense.
I'm on their mailing list, just waiting to see the details.
Yuck why would you ever want to spend a thousand bucks just to get a game going? It would have to be pretty damn impressive for me to think about putting more than a triple A game cost. My cost of living is too high to put that kind of money down. You gotta be single and living by yourself to afford spending that much on a video game.

I think Ian Malcolm summarizes the subsequent ups and very deep downs of MWO pretty well:
I'm not saying don't back, but do expect significant problems and delays to arise as commonly happens with kickthiever.

Dont put money down on something till you know a lot more about it. I'm glad I didn't fund this game initially and frankly regret the money I have since spent on this except maybe the first clan pack until it got nerfed that is.

Indeed so I guess a great story driven mechwarrior simulator is never going to happen. I barely play this game anymore as it is. Too bored I want to command my ai partners to go blow stuff up. Guess you can do that in the other mech based game on steam dark horizons but it's using a very old engine that pretty much resembles mechwarrior 4. Has no population so dont really recommend it I tried it myself it's boring.

Actually, I want a MC game paired with MW, where I issue commands to players in MWO

So basically you want a Natural Selection / Natural Selection 2 type game, but set in the Battletech / MechWarrior Universe? Sign me the **** up!

To everyone stating that they wont buy in if it is turnbased: that was clear right from the first announcement a month ago about a Battletech (note: not MechWarrior) turn based tactical game so nothing to be surprised about now. Personally I have been been waiting for a game like to for like... don't know... probably 20 years

Yes.
Watching the stream, while Jordan was talking, I was looking at his beard.
We have quite the same age, and throughout 25 years playing BT, we both have the black beard becoming grey, then white....

Time passes, and finally a dream comes true!
BT on PC!
