A thousand is a metric crap-ton to spend on a single game, even if it is BattleTech :)

I was torn between Noble House Scion ($125) and Elite MechWarrior ($275), was even thinking of going with the Mechwarrior ($50), contemplating whether it was worth the trinkets to go Scion or Elite - then I decided it wasn't, but it was worth $275 to try to get the game to $2.5M :)

Hey, who doesn't need another jacket? ;)

That's always an option for anyone that doesn't want to, or can't afford to, participate in a kickstarter. Seeing as the primary funding goal was met in 53 minutes, you'll get your chance to pay for and play the game come May 2017, should you so desire.

There is no doubt in my mind that this will fully go through. MWO, while not on kickstarter, got over 2.4 5millions from founders/backers which by any kickstarter game standard is a great success. What i don't like is the wait and the self induced hype that goes with it. Ill be happy to forget the project exist until it's released.

I do like that they didnt went the dlc route and sub for life edition, maybe i should just commit 25$ because of that. Im in love with the idea of a 2'x6' Marik Banner but if i look the other way the urge subside and disappear =)

Quite excited about this whole thing! Probably backing once the paycheck is in :)

My main question is on the pvp if 4 is reached. Solaris is one aspect of a at lore I didn't explode much. Are matches 1v1, teams, ffa?

Solaris was all about arena matches, which were usually one on one, free for all, or small teams.

@everyone waiting to pledge

I have seen some people are actually waiting to pledge because they don't have the money right now.
Just as an FYI. Your money will not be deducted from your credit card until the KS campaign isn't over.

So you can pledge now, just make sure you have money on the 3rd of November when the campaign ends.

Same here, but I kind of want the wall banner and I would probably actually use the keychain.

The best battletech/mech turn based game on computer was made on amiga long long time ago. http://www.sarna.net...echforce_amiga/ If you want to feel the spirit of the 90s again.. Posted Image

Turn-based combat is awesome. Always wanted to try the Battletech boardgame, but the rules strike me as better handled via automated processes than having to do all those rolls manually. (Yes, I know the KS said they won't be necessarily following the boardgame rules 1-to-1. I'm all for that.)

Also, thanks to PGI for posting this and sharing assets. (I'm sure such cross-over will help MWO as well, of course.)

A lot of people still play MegaMek, but it sounds like this project will put it to serious shame.

What's exciting is not that they've already blown away their initial goal, but by far in just 6 hours. If you look other wildly successful kickstarter games, the 1st day's pledges makes up just 20-25% of the final tally. I'd guess it will hit nearly 800k, if not over 1 million, after 24 hours. If so, that means 2.5 million for PVP is definitely possible. The facts that they are already funding "part 1" themselves & that the core game is already well-established means it's more an exercise in graphics & direction/logistics.

Here's Pillars of Eternity's ~$3.3mil run on kickstarter:

The Alpha Strike campaign may make this one more front-loaded than others. We shall see. Still going up fast, and they got my pledge just a few minutes ago :)

Waiting for pay day when KS $25 or $50 they already over 8000 backers, $640,000 pledged so stage 2 almost funded. I loved the turn based games as much as Live action. Good job sharing the MWO art PGI and backing this project.

Am I correct that this new game will have no cooperative mode/option/feature at any planned stage of funding success?

Weird that their website http://battletechgame.com/ doesn't point to the kickstarter page.
