Doubt we will see the Marauder II, unless it is one of the "Legendary" mechs (which we have not unlocked yet), since the Marauder II was exclusively a Wolf's Dragoons mech until after the fourth succession war (which hasn't started yet in 3025) and it uses lostech, which has not been recovered by the Grey Death Legion yet.

I meant more for MWO ^^; Not so much Battletech... sorry, I think I got confused at some point what we were talking about...

I have most of the battletech novels, but I haven't read anything prior to the Blood of Kerensky trilogy. (3049) However, tomorrow I'm going to open up my copy of "Decision at Thunder Rift" and start off my earlier books... wish I could find a copy of "Sword and the Dagger" for a reasonable price... but I understand unlike all the other novels, it was never re-printed for some reason.

The Home Base Stretch Goal Achieved!

HBS said:

You're refitting a derelict ship one module at a time, expanding its functionality based on the needs of your mercenary outfit as you go.

► Refitting will take money, time, and judgment as you figure out how you want to allocate the space available for the modules you want to add.

► Different types of modules, but here are some that we think will be available:
  • Repair Bay is required for each ‘Mech in your outfit’s inventory where your MechTechs can perform repairs to the internal structure, components, weapons, and armor of the resident ‘Mech.
  • Refit Bays are required for the much more intensive work needed to change a 'Mech’s weapon systems and/or internal components.
  • 'Mech Simulators During travel, and/or instead of being deployed to the battlefield, MechWarriors can be assigned to the training bay in order to improve specific skills.
  • MechTech Fabrication Bay will increase your technical teams’ ability to jury-rig, repair, and even improve your 'Mechs.
  • Sick Bay will treat MechWarriors’ minor wounds
  • Ship’s Hospital will be required to stitch a seriously wounded MechWarrior back together and then convalesce enough to return to battle ready condition.
  • Among others!
Sounds pretty good!

Now we are going to need another 128k to get those Legendary 'Mechs and MechWarriors!

I'm not too optimistic of us reaching stage 4, pvp with 10 days to go. Somehow it feels like worldwide support has hit its peak.
I'm glad enough that we can now own a dropship and refit it.

Kickstarters tend to get a decent percent of their funding in the last 2 days.

Is a pretty popular trend in just about everything ever :)

Perhaps people, who have pledged $35 and $50, will upgrade their pledges to $85. I mean, the "Valhalla" pledge offers some interesting addons and it's the highest pledge that you can choose if you are not interested in physical rewards.

I think many have, because the total shot up quite a bit in the last two days. I am very hopeful that we will reach the PVP goal and maybe the ongoing development stretch goal.

That's what i'm hoping too, i myself anticipate a surge in pledges on the last day. It's just at the moment the money's trickling in.

At present there are 721 backers at the $85 pledge, it should hit 1000+ (of which 95% should be upgraders like you said). I think it would be hard to gauge the effect of that pledge now, we'll have to wait till the last two days to find out.

I don't plan to upgrade to $85, having upgraded to $50 just last weekend. Might consider toppin up for some extras.

I think that many people will wait until the last weekend before the Kickstarter's end either to pledge or to upgrade their pledges.

I am okay with the game as it is now, but I admit that multiplayer would be nice too.

Now we are officially more successful than for example the previous HBS' Shadowrun Kickstarter that ended with 1.8M, while needing 6 000 more backers for that!

9 days left!

Let's get $2.5 million for PVP, that will make the game last for many years. I can just imagine the tier competition where the gameplay is less about min-maxing and more about tactics!

That would be nice.

However, we have 9 days left and we need 440k. Let's hope that Kickstarter ends successfully.

It has already ended successfully from my point of view. As for PVP, I believe that it is not needed and will break the balance and worsen the game in general. Fingers crossed for no 2.5kk goal achieved.

I think that sooner or later players would get bored with AI doing the same moves and using the same playstyle. Multiplayer could help with keeping people interested in the game longer.

That is what I did (and that happened after reaching the 2 million mark for the Kickstarter). I budgeted $100, so if that pledge level is added, then I will upgrade again.

Additionally, it is the 3025 setting... so only basic IS stuff, no DHS, no endo, no XL, no pulse... good old times...

I guess that can definetely be nicely balanced.

The dynamic mission generator will keep the single player campaign interesting and I am sure that there will be DLCs in the future to add more missions / story, but yes, the PVP will be awesome. I know that myself and many of the other oldschool MWO players will be all over it.

Since we will be fielding lances, it will be mostly balanced, but is not always intended to be completely even. This is a battle simulator and battles are not always fought on equal terms. If you are the underdog, you will have to win with superior strategy and tactics.

Plus, the 3025 era was when BattleTech was "Game of Thrones" in space.
