agreed. How other mechs make up for a small side profile with taller height, this one makes up for a large side profile by being shorter.

Medium mechs being too huge is one of the most infamous forum complaints that has been around for years, since pretty much the beginning of the game. The Crabby Patty here is actually fairly close to where a medium ought to be sized: smaller than a heavy.
Also keep in mind that it has a questionable torso shape, so this helps to compensate a bit.

This here Cat D9 is about the same size as a spider's torso with no arms or legs...54 Tons. Try that again?

looking how long it is on the side view, I would say there is no need for upscaling, it looks pretty accurate, and man, it's gonna hate life from flanking shots. It needs a small frontal profile to help compensate some, or it truly will be DoA.

try reading the second half of my comment. Obviously was speaking in relative density comparison. Also, humanoid type bone and musculature is a whole lot less dense, than your average earth mover. Also go stack those same components into a human configuration with spindly arms and legs. and lets ignore the part that earth movers are actually designed specifically to ADD weight, not cut it, and thus are not as weight efficient as military machines...because mass is a bonus for earth work. (Spent 7 years driving those things)
So first, let's compare apples to apples, not oranges, and then third, instead of getting your knickers in a twist, read the whole comment.... you might note where I stated everything bigger than Lights are oversized.
The Jenner is near perfect, actually, and yes, the Spider IS undersized.

Crab's scaled PERFECTLY with the Hunchback and Enforcer. It has a different body-type, a very long torso and double-jointed legs, (and pretty large arms with massive claws) which might make it shorter, but size-wise it's PERFECT.
Nova should follow suit and be made in a similar size.
(If only the Centurion and Trebuchet won the re-scale votes instead of that bloody Uller!)
Seriously, it's FINE, and you guys know me as the first one to whine about oversized or undersized 'mechs.

I spent five driving the Abrams which to repute your military comment is only slightly larger but another 18 tons heavier cause of that, you know Armor and weapons thing. You do realize that our humvees have gone from 2 to 6 tons and are now being replaced by a truck that weighs almost 15? That might have been the most ridiculous comment you've made on here yet but thats irrelevant. The point that weight is a BAD means of determining size stands.
As to the spider, its just fine where its at. that aint no elemental.
