The problem with "Balance" as stated earlier in this thread by Lord Scarlett Johan is that "balance" refers to many different aspects of the game.

Clan Tech vs IS Tech (across factions)
Weapon vs Weapon (within and across factions)
Mech vs Mech (within factions)
Equipment Value (within and across factions)

That's 4 categories, right there.
Then you need to define the baseline references... Is it based on TT, Lore, previous MW games, or general principles of FPS/sim games?

Any section of the forums for balance needs to be subdivided, and even then you have to make people state their desired baseline references for all their Balancing suggestions.

Many people forget or refuse to include their baseline references when discussing balance. The statement "Clan UAC are worthless" could be coming from someone who has difficulty using them in-game, or from someone who is simply pissed that PGI made them anything less-than better than IS UAC because "Lore says so."

I was quite clear in what I said, maybe not Perfect English Grammer, but certainly clear enough to get my meaning across.

People that marginalize any opinion that doesn't agree with theirs and that are "quite vocal" about it, generally lack the cognitive abilities necessary to fully understand much of anything at all, and yes, that includes this game. So, if that description fits YOU then I suppose I did indeed say that I don't think you understand the game.

As I said above about cognitive ability.......the comparison wasn't that you = Jeff D, the comparison was that just because a behavior wasn't always exhibited doesn't mean that when it is that it's "okay" and should be accepted by society. (or the community in this case)

1) Agreeing with an option =/= "Thinking it's valid" (sic). Agreeing with an opinion just means you also choose to believe said thing without any evidence. B/c that's the definition of the word.

2) An opinion literally cannot be valid. Valid is a term used to describe certain logical arguments. Claiming an opinion is valid is a flat out contradiction, which ironically is also a term used in logic that has an actual definition.

I think the sheer number of balance threads is evidence of the importance of the problem and means PGI needs to show some urgency in addressing it.

That is still a poor comparison. Vocalizing my opinion (that differs from yours) doesn't make me a problem for society.
